No breakfast...unlss the milk in my coffees counts
and a seafood salad for lunch (minus th mussels, so really some squid and prawns.)

Careful not to skip breakfast (I'm no expert mind, but this is the advice given by everyone and it does seem to make sense).
Seafood salad sounds yummy!
I was in a meeting at lunchtime and only had 3 sandwiches whereas normally I'd polish off 6 or 7!Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I only did 7,500 steps yesterday - awful day at work and had a meeting over lunch.
But I ate ok, and all really small portions.
4 oatcakes for breakfast
3 sandwiches for lunch (meeting)
apple mid-afternoon
baked spud with butter for dinner
The hoodia seems to be working really well to suppress my appetite. I am still eating meals, just far smaller ones (portion size has been a problem for me).
Now the MSE question: do I buy more of the stuff??? If it works it will be money well spent but it is expensive (I can afford it but this site really makes me question EVERY purchase). :rotfl:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Another question to ask is, can I sustain this? Are you planning to keep taking hoodia for the rest of your life or do you want to change your habits to ensure you can control your weight yoursef rather than taking a supplement? What happens when you stop taking them, do you think you can maintain your weight or do you think you will gain and therefore have to take it again i.e. yo-yoing?
Just a question not an attack:o0 -
Bunny200, thanks for the question. It is one that I have asked myself!
My eating habits change veeeery gradually. I was always slim, then slowly I put on about 2 stone around 8 years ago (overeating due to family bereavement, I was a mess). I changed my eating/exercise habits radically (back to what they were before) and the weight came off... and stayed off for 5 years. When I was slim, I had trained my body to expect healthier food and smaller portions and that was the way it stayed.
But I have gradually put on 1.5 stone and I know why - I met OH, started going for dinner a lot on dates, he and I are very good cooks and now we live together he makes me big portions and I eat them!! I'm also snacking at work as eating more and gaining weight makes me want to eat more - vicious circle.
So I want to get back to the way I was - slim and content with smaller portions. I am actually disgusted at the frequency and amount I've been eating, it is really getting me down and I feel desperate to lose the weight. I don't feel like 'me' at this size IYKWIM.
So if hoodia decreases my appetite, I can easily lose 1.5 stone in 4 months and by then I will be so used to eating less (and feeling slimmer and lighter) that I will not go back to the bad habits. Plus I'm exercising more now and that will definitely help.
So in answer to your question: I would love to do it without the hoodia, but if it gives me results and stops me overeating then I will lose weight, and (hopefully) keep it off. I know what to expect this time and will not be drawn back into overeating! When I am slim I naturally eat less for some reason.
I know it is a bit pathetic to be taking a pill but if it works throughout the free trial I will seriously consider ordering more.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Tara, is the free trial still on? If so, do you have a friend or two who would sign up for the free trial so you could give the tablets a longer trial before committing yourself?I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

zzzLaxyDaisy - thanks for the suggestion. I actually got 2 lots (I paid £1.95 P&P for each so all legit) so am halfway through a 10-day free trial now. I would ask my friends but am too embarrassed to tell them...Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

First weigh in at the nurses, lost 3lbs.
Obviously cut down on choccies etc, but it seems better for me to have meal at 6pm and then a small snack at 9ish... was eating way too late in the evening before.0 -
stingylolo, that's brilliant!!! Well done :T
How do you get weighed by the nurse? Are you on a doctor-approved weight loss plan?
I am still considering buying a set of scales.
The hoodia is still working. :j Food so far today:
Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs with one slice of toast (thought I should make sure to get some extra protein but could hardly finish it all, I would normally devour this and an extra slice of toast)
Lunch - 3 oatcakes with an apple - I really wasn't hungry but want to make sure that I eat 3 times per day, even if a tiny amount. My metabolism will thank me (I hope!).
Dinner will be a stir fry or something as OH is cooking.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I need to weigh myself but feel as though I have lost some weight over the past week despite being on holiday. I tried to be careful with what I ate - sticking mainly to chicken or salad especially if the food wasnt identifiable. I had fresh orange juice for breakfast most days - freshly squeezed by me and even carried around a bottle of the stuff to drink throughout the day. I walked a heck of a lot - I think there was only one day where we caught the bus to Murcia where I didnt walk much (only around the town) - everyday was a walking fest as my poor feet can demonstrate because they are blistered and sore (I was wearing hiking boots too).
Sure I had some treats, like cakes occasionally but felt that as I had consumed enough oranges, salad and the like and walked a heck of a lot then I deserved it.0
