Thanks for the advice and the welcome, Dragon. I might try Boots. How much is it per weigh? It might work out cheaper to buy the WW scales!
Anyone else tried hoodia or spirulina? They do get great press for reducing appetite. I am a terrible snacker, esp at work, and need to stop!
Forgot to say - I am also doing weights most evenings. Just hand weights while watching TV, I used to be really fit as well as slim so am trying to build up to fitness again. That Claire Sweeney programme was freaky, imagine putting on 2 stone in 5 weeks!! :eek:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I think it is about 50p but you can get pre-paid cheaper methods

My problem is not suppressing my appetite but actually eating enough! Given half a chance and a prevailing wind I will stop eating all together *sigh*, according to https://www.caloriecount.about.com I need 2,450 kcals per day to lose weight sensibly (I do have about 10 or 11 stone to lose) and some days if I am not tracking I have been known to have less than 300 kcals!

OMG Dragon, how do you eat so little??? Is that what's making it hard to lose weight?
I think my Basal Metabolic Rate is about 1300 cals per day, plus any exercise on top. As I am 9st11lbs (last time I checked) I probably do need to be eating fewer calories. And doing more exercise!
I am a serious snacker, I am gearing up to do a fruit/veg/juice fast day some of these days as I think it would help me.
The hoodia is actually working well for me at the mo, I don't feel hungry at all. Not sure how it works but not complaining!!! If I could stick to 3 meals a day (smaller portions too) I'd be doing well. Normally when I try to eat less I just get really hungry! How do you lose weight without feeling hungry at least some of the time???
Not sure why CS deliberately put on weight for TV, but the prog was very interesting. It was called 'My Big Fat Diet'.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Welcome mehaul! A stone is very doable, and it's only half a stone in January. I like this 'breaking it into half-stone chunks' business.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi Tara, when I had my road accident I was put on steroidal anti inflammatory tablets and piled on 14+ stone in weight in a year , I tried to lose weight and eventually went to the doctors for help and was told I was eating too much and to cut down, which I did, eventually went to another doctor and was told to cut down, so I did, went to another doctor and was told to cut down etc - eventually I burst into tears and said I couldn't cut down any more (and Dr Dragon agreed with me), so the doctor asked me to keep a months food diary and said I was to write EVERYTHING down even if this meant that my only food for a day was 15 mars bars and 6 pints of beer
.
Because I had been told so often I needed to cut down because "you are overeating" I was actually starving myself for the month I managed to eat 9,000 calories (for a month - 28 flipping days ), if I get stressed (and with Dr Dragon being out of work and we are fighting for the money he is owed by his previous company and so I am stressed) then I just stop eating and then I pile weight on because my system thinks I am being starved and hangs onto every single flipping calorie!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Today I walked around 10,800 steps and have also done 20 minutes of weights and a few goes up and down the stairs at work. I have eaten:
Porridge
HM pasta and veg salad with tomato sauce
Pork with roasted carrots and sweet potatoes
3 oatcakes
I think the hoodia is working (I hope!).Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Can I join - not sure if I can manage 7lbs in 2 weeks. I weigh myself every friday morning and need to shed at least 2 stone which I put on during pregnancy. Prior to getting pregnant I lost 4 stone for my wedding. I have been on the nhs website to see what my BMI and was shocked to note that my BMI is 30.2 and classed as obese. Need to get my bum in gear and do this properly. Managed to maintain my weight over christmas and will see what happens on friday - not crossing my fingers much as not been that good but will tighten up the next 2 days and see if this helps any. Started back to my exercise class on wednesday nights and was out today with daughter in pram.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46
