8 weeks and 1 day for me now
Feel good. Time between cravings is longer, and the cravings go quicker
I also do not act on the cravings, and think about buying ciggies. I think 'where did that thought come from?' and then it disappears.
Good luck friends0 -
Sorry its been so long, but these magic pills are amazing.
Been smoke free for 11 days now, but, did have a pull last friday and it tasted like crap which was why i wanted to. So, then i knew i wouldn't want one through the night.
Champix is great, it is doing me very well. Forgot to take a pill last night though. I can even sit next to people smoking and not feel as if i want one.
I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi, I have been directed here from the Arms. I am at the point where I want to stop but can't quite give myself that final push.
For me it is the control the fags have over me and the SMELL:eek: . For some reason lately the smell has been driving me mad.
I have bought an inhalator in preparation but really can't quite get to the point where I can actually stop.
Any tips?We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing.0 -

Try walking up a flight of stairs and see how out of breath you get. Also, maybe see the stop smoking clinic aswell they are very helpful. I have to go and see the nurse every week, and she is ver supportive. Plus she remind me of my late granma so don't want to let her down!;)12 month goal starting 01.02.09Halifax Loan £25/£300, Sealed box (#630) £250, Ebay £145 / £500, Savings £629 /£5000, £2 per Day Transfer,Stopping Smoking Fund = £45, Claim bank charges (£2000)0 -

Actually I don't really get out of breath, cough or any of the things smokers typically complain about. It's more a psychological "push" I need to get me past the fear.We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing.0 -

If it is the fear of giving up, try thinking about what it would be like when your older. I saw my grandad after he had smoked all his life and now is out of breath by the time he walks to the front door.12 month goal starting 01.02.09Halifax Loan £25/£300, Sealed box (#630) £250, Ebay £145 / £500, Savings £629 /£5000, £2 per Day Transfer,Stopping Smoking Fund = £45, Claim bank charges (£2000)0 -
Well I feel like I tempted fate posting in here the other day, as today have had such massive urges for a cig its untrue, have no idea why, am putting it down to hormones:rotfl:
Luckily I havent given in to the demon even tho I am seriously tempted and wierdly my brain wont stop thinking about it, how odd? This has to be the worst day I've had, and its 8weeks now....0 -
Can't believe the w/e has come round so quick. Mad busy at work but managed to cope with not too many cravings. Had a big row with OH the other night and that is when I usually succomb but I stayed strong and that felt like a real test. Hormones are flying this week and that doesn't help the cause but what can I say I'm on day 16 and feeling ok.
Hope you are all enjoying your Fri nights and being smoke free. Not massively in debt, but possibly heading there!0 -

Mad isn't? I've not smoked for 42 days and already I've not spent £207 and the brand I smoked weren't even the "most" exepensive. I did notice in my local shop the other day, there were rows and rows of the "cheaper" brands right in the front. I'm guessing a few people have swapped brands rather than stop.
