  • Day 3 and feeling good! For me it's the evenings that are the most difficult. I felt quite spaced out last night whereas in the day I feel more alert than usual - maybe because I took my patch off to have a bath at 5.30pm and didn't put it back on! Won't make that mistake again.

    Day 2

Feeling a lot more positive today...Convinced if I can crack the first 72 hours I can do it!
Am really trying to pick up on the positives of not smoking....I smell nicer, the house smells nicer, remembering the reasons I wanted to do it in the first place.....I am also eating like a pig but have decided I will just go with it for now :-)
Have not used the inhaler yet today as would really like to break the dependance on nicotine....I know its there if I need it though!

    Hiya,

Just come accross this thread, ive been taking champix for nearly 3 weeks now, and have been smoke free since last Sunday.

Has anyone else experienced any of the nasty side effects ?

Hey Daisy, i am on Champix also. The biggest problem was wind, and toilet stops. And also some wierd dreams!! Apart for that the wonly problem i know have i remembering to take my pill in the evening.

  • Hi all,

I stopped at the end of October & haven't touched one sinse although it's been very hard. I have smoked 20+ a day for over 35 years so although I know I'll never have another, my Dad has cancer & I had a scare, the feeling to want one is still there. I used patches which did help but I've eaten enough food to feed a small third world country & have a backside the size of one too! BUT I will not smoke ever again!!

I'm hoping to run The Race for Life this year rather than walk it!

Good Luck everyone & Well Done so far.

    I've been Money Tipped!
just wanted to drop in and say that i have stoped smoking 1 year and 3 months done it with the patches the best tip i can give is after two days the fag will not taste the same as it did when you stoped smoking and it would take a lot of effort to make it take like you rember it to so you are craving something that dosnt exist anymore good luck

  • Having two little ones to run around after is stopping me from snacking during the day but in the evenings I can't stop scoffing! Luckily I could do with putting a bit of weight on (although not so much that my clothes won't fit or I'll be spending the money I've saved on fags on a new wardrobe!)

I honestly dont mind if i put on a bit of weight....Ive never been a massive eater so think i will be able to stop eating so much....hopefully....at some point :D
Feeling ok at moment, yesterday was terrible but not quite as bad today.
Whenever ive given up before ive 'cheated' which is pretty stupid really as ive only ever cheated myself, lol.
