QUOTED FROM SUE:
Another day to face folks, but treat it the same as yesterday and YOU WILL get through it.The deep breaths if taken slowly and deeply can work very effectively. Also, do something you really do like doing.
Sue x
The breathing bit is so so simple and free to do and really does help............here's what I posted recentlydundeedoll wrote: »Ps A little tip.............this helped me............I realised that when I stopped smoking I wasn't breathing properly. When you get told to do breathing exercises it's always in through nose - out through mouth. I found I needed to breathe in deep through my mouth...........just as if I was taking a deep drag.
Also have a read through this about blood sugar levels in the 1st few days. http://www.whyquit.com/joel/Joel_03_21_blood_sugar.html
The above helped with the craving/empty feeling, but at night in bed I did the beathing in through the nose for count of 4............hold for 4.............breathe out through mouth for 4..............to relax and help to go to sleep.
Brilliant advice from everyone on here...............stick with it..............it really is worth it and the best feeling!Nicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

There does seem to be more non smokers about! I'm finding I'm not the resident coat looker after anymore, the smokers are the ones having to toddle off and miss out on the conversation, very refreshingI can keep an eye out for suitable specimens if you'd like

My last partner was a smoker and I suppose that (stupidly) kept me smoking too.
Split up in the summer and stopped.................just like that!

Good morning everyone  day 2 :j and I have woke up and resolved that I will not smoke today! I have re-read the pm you sent me Sue and am armed with the tips. I'm enjoying a coffee at the moment - however in the past when my taste buds returned I went off coffee
.
I felt quite emotional last night & again this morning (both times because of pm's from Sue & DD) and wanted to say thank you so much for giving your time to support others who are going through this. Strangely it does feel good to know there are others who are going through what I am or did recently and are at the other side. IN fact its overwhelming Sue that 12 yrs on u give so much of yourself :A
princess I'm sorry that day 1 was so sucky for you, hopefully you managed to stay strong tho? We're giving up exactly at the same time so maybe we could be quit buddies? we can give each other a moral boost when we feel we are slipping?) I truely hope today will be better for you. I'm planning to go to the gym and do some serious exercise, clean my car thoroughly so I don't have to smell stale fags on the 40mins drive to work tomorrow, drink plenty of water today and maybe print off some crosswords for the boredom later???? Stay strong with me!
I also want to apologise for being so self absorbed - but I can't seem to help it I'm all about my wants and needs right nowmy poor oh is ill in bed and yesterday I didnt even give him a second thought
