Thanks guys, I think it is passing, had a chat with hubby too, hes being surprisingly helpful - he is quite resentful because I am doing this because I want to, he is doing it because he needs to - minor ( as these things go ) ticker scare earlier this week. I am sorry for bringing the thread down, it seems to be full of positivity, and whilst it is fab to hear of everyone doing so well, it does make me feel like I am the only one struggling. Thanks for kind words.I don't know much, but I know I love you ....<30

Jinty, dont ever think that you are bringing the thread down, that is why we are here, to help eachopther through these times, in a few weeks time you will be helping someone who has just quit, and you will feel good to know that you are aware of what that person is going through.
Im hope your hubby is ok, and his health scare was not too major, remind him this is his life long health we are talking about and he will feel better for it in a few weeks.
Glad your out the other side
Ross

Just wanted to wish everyone as much encouragement as possible, I quit again myself 23rd April 2010, and haven't looked back. In that time between June and August I had 5 cigarettes, all I hated, and none since - it is difficult. If your brain starts thinking about how nice that cigarette was you end up crawling over anything to get just one more. Just remember what made you quit in the first place. Be strong and breathe. If you can't think too far ahead just take a minute at a time, I used to find having an ashtray in the house helped. If I was seriously tempted I'd stick my face in it. It worked for me! There was no way I could let myself smell like that.
If anyone needs a shoulder I can lend one - be strong and well done all

You've got to do what you've got to do. We can't all be upbeat all the time, ESPECIALLY not when you're fighting a horrible addiction all at the same time! You'll get through. Make a brew and reward yourself regularly. Don't think too far ahead, and you've escaped the nicotine monster, that's a great achievement~Nym~

Nym is an online name I've had for around 14 years... Mc from me surname and I've been called Froggles for years. No idea why... but it has prompted big frog slippers which make me look v dashing, honest!
Thank you kindly also on the quit, it passes. I've done well this time, I gave up smoking for nearly 3 years oh about 5 years ago. Before people get disheartened, I gave up - I craved a cigarette every day for 3 years and wondered why I relapsed.
This time I walked away from dem nasty cancer sticks and I feel better for it. I don't have a gap I'm trying to fill, I just realised it's horrible. I don't need to shove something in my mouth that tastes vile and makes me stink! And now I've found more and more of the people I spend time with don't smoke either which is frankly, gorgeous. And I have more time to make things, I enjoy cooking and I'm fitter. I wish I'd been more sensible years ago!
I think you've done great Ross - keep up the good work~Nym~

Jinty, giving up smoking can make people feel all different things in different area's however if you are chewing your lips that could in fact make your face feel a little fuzzy, try getting some chewing gum, it may help take your mind off of smoking.Nym_Mcfroglet wrote: »Ha cheers Ross

LOl i know what you mean about nicknames, since school i have been called Nabbles, no idea why, as it has no reflection at all on my name or anything lol.
I also agree i have had some half hearted quits before, but this time I have chosen to quit and walk away from ciggies, and it is so much easier.

Have got gum, have been chewing away like an old highland coo for hours, this is different, its like my lips feel like I have been to the dentist. not painful or anything, just a bit numb feeling. however, that major half hour of cravings has passed for now, onwards and upwards !!I don't know much, but I know I love you ....<30
