Am struggling at the moment, and the problem is, a quick trip to the back door would take away all these cravings. I am thinking about cigarettes constantly, and fighting a battle with my mind/ will power every minute. Getting tired of it now.
    I don't know much, but I know I love you ....<3

    HI JInty

PLease stay strong , i used to think a cigarette would relieve stress and make you feel better but imagine how much worse you will feel if you give in to the nasty little craving now . YOU are so much stronger than that and it will be short lived i promise you , and then you can stand tall and say well ...there is another one past and I BEAT IT , occupy yourself ,,stay away from the back door !!!! take a shower clean your teeth anything to take you away from situation ,

an d WELL done for posting

Jinty, stay away from the back door. It will only make you more stressed.

You are stronger than the nicotine monster - you don't want to be lining their pockets x

ETA: yesterday, about 4pm I felt like this, I think its something to do with it getting dark etc. I was the most grumpy cow in the world and in the end had to go upstairs and lie on the bed for half hour (with the window wide open as I felt really stuffy and off). It passed eventually but OH did make me a couple mugs of tea before I felt a bit better.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

Well done for coming to us.

Please find something to occupy your mind, sip some water, have a bath/shower, go for a walk, deep breathing exercises.

The cravings will pass, YOU are in charge ... please dont give in as that will mean our ex friend Nick is in charge, and we dont want that.

Please give us an update as soon as you can

  • Hey all,

Just wanted to wish everyone as much encouragement as possible, I quit again myself 23rd April 2010, and haven't looked back. In that time between June and August I had 5 cigarettes, all I hated, and none since - it is difficult. If your brain starts thinking about how nice that cigarette was you end up crawling over anything to get just one more. Just remember what made you quit in the first place. Be strong and breathe. If you can't think too far ahead just take a minute at a time, I used to find having an ashtray in the house helped. If I was seriously tempted I'd stick my face in it. It worked for me! There was no way I could let myself smell like that.

If anyone needs a shoulder I can lend one - be strong and well done all :)
