I will not let nicotine control me.
Penelopedee you are doing so well, it will only be a couple more days then you are on the home stretch, trust me, i had tantrums and everything during my first couple of days, to the point others went and bought me ciggies, but perserverence paid off

Hi Brazen,
I have taken a quick peek at the website, my first impression is that I would be very sceptical and would stick to tried and trusted methods, i.e. nicorette products, Zyban and Champix, hypno etc.
my reason for this is i can not comprehend how this can work, and what it actually does, i can not undewrstand how it can unstick the nicotine etc from the cells...or have i read it completely wrong lol
That is of course my personal opinion
ross
Thanks Ross
I too have some scepticism about this method.
I mean, A) if this is a scientifically proven technique, why then isn't it described in more "scientific detail"
andwhy isn't it more widely used/known about ? ? ?
Maybe my first and main resolution for the new year is to trust my instincts a bit more0 -

Brazen, exactly, ive had a more indepth look at the site (being a nurse i want to understand this lol) and agree with you if it was scientifically proven why is the description a bit poor??
i dont understand how being 'connected to a bioresonance therapy machine via electrodes and the inverse electromagnetic frequency pattern of nicotine and the other chemical toxins found in tobacco smoke will be transmitted into your body' (taken from instantquit).
If you are looking to quit I would recommend Champix

Thanks for the info/advice Ross
The one reason I considered using the instant quit program in the first place, was that the 'Groupon website' are currently offering a pretty big discount on the cost of a session with them..
Perhaps though, offering this discount in itself is an indication that they're product isn't actually selling very well? who knows...
Out of interest, is 'Champix' available over the counter, or prescription only?0 -

Brazen,
Champix is only available on prescription, I got mine from the smoking nurse at the gp's, well worth it though.

Happy New Year everyone.
I stopped smoking on the 5th December 2010 using champix. I wont say it was easy but easier than I expected. I have since had a kidney infection and cold sores in my mouth, just feeling crap. Not pleasant at all but I know I wouldve had these problems even if I was smoking. I have been smoking 30 years and have tried numerous occassions to stop. Longest time stopped was for nine months. I do not want to smoke ever again. I have read this thread since the start, that took many many hours, and has helped to keep me focus, so thank you for that. I wish everyone sucess to stop smoking and I will continually read this thread for advice and support. Thank you again.0 -

Well done Blanc, nearly at the 1 month mark, and I love your positive attitude, as you are right, you would have had the kidney infection and cold sores, whether you smoked or didnt, this is where most people do silly things like start smoking again as they believe its the quit that has caused the illness.
I wish you luck with the rest of your quit, how are you finding champix? any side effects?
