I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

A very warm welcome to the thread, topsyturphy!
It's always good if we can give up smoking through choice - BUT - even though the sadness of losing loved ones to horrible illnesses is awful, it can often give us the kick-start we need in order to get our own lives back - whilst we have chance! Wanting to do it for health reasons is the best reason you can have and if you keep that at the forefront of youre mind, it really does help. At present people on here are speaking wonderfully about Champix and I've no reason to doubt that you'll have that success too. Daz (dazco) lost his parents to cancer, but quit just over 6 months ago via Champix and swears by it, Alan too!

One thing we always ask fresh quitters is - please keep coming to the thread and talking to us about your feelings - good or bad, it really does help to know others at the end of the line know and understand how you're feeling and care about you! :) We wish you the very, very best towards your marvellous journey.

    Sue x

Happy New Year 2011 to one and All

I hope 2011 got off to a good start for everyone, it certainly did for me, as today is 50 days since my last ciggy :j ive never hit this point before in any of my previous quits, I had always given up giving up by day 20 LOL so to hit day 50, especially after not taking champix for a few weeks is really big for me :)

You know I was asked this morning what my new years resolutions were, and I was quite impressed with myself when I said 'well ive already achieved 2 out of 3' every year they have always been 1) give up smoking ACHIEVED 2) Start saving ACHIEVED (well got £220 so not much but a lot for me lol) 3) loose weight ..... hmmm still working on that one :rotfl:

    Hope all are well
