I totally agree with Larmy, xxlaurissaxx, there aren't many of us who haven't been through similar times in our many times of quitting. Still, you've kicked yourself so that's out of the way with. Now just move on and forget all about it. We've all had similar times, but you've come way too far to worry yourself unduly about a slip-up. I just hope you soon found out that the fags didn't serve any purpose, and would possibly only make you more stressed.

Onward xxlaurissaxx, and no looking back. History's about things of the past...you have 4 things to leave there!!! ;) Well done for the confession...that's your soul feeling a whole lot better!

Good to see you around again larmy! :D

Keep up the wonderful work everyone.

Well, as the title says, it's exactly 13 weeks (to the minute!) since I inhaled my last dose of nicotine.

They say that an ex smoker is worse than a non smoker, don't they? Well, whenever I go into town and people are smoking, it's the smell that hits me! It makes me feel totally sick and walking out from the supermarket yesterday straight into 'the fag fog' I literally was urging!

Tried hard 6 months ago to stop and couldn't manage a single day - the last 3 however have been relatively easy.

My only advice to anyone reading this thread because they want to stop or to those that are at the beginning of their 'freedom from fags' journey is:

    It is possible!
    It does get easier!
    IT IS WORTH IT!
    Nicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

Hi again Folks, just a little update.

For the last two weeks i have cut my smoking down to 3 a day, i was smoking half a cig and putting it out.
    Some days i had NONE!

I felt so much heathier not smoking a pack a day, i am also using NicotineCQ lozenges and Kalms.

Tomorrow 1st November i am stopping smoking completely... going to continue the lozenges as i find they work well for me.

Thanks for the support, especially Sue for the PM you sent me a couple weeks ago.

    Andy.

    Andy.

Just wanted to say well done so far Andy and am wishing you all the very best for stopping from tomorrow.
(You've got the language right QUOTE Tomorrow 1st November i am stopping smoking completely QUOTE and not 'I will try to give up as from tomorrow')
Giving up sounds negative - like you're going to be missing out on something.
Stopping sounds much more positive - like it's your choice.

Keep coming back on here (if the thread's quiet, just read back through the old posts)..............

Have another read of Sue's PM..........

Be prepared for cravings..........have a back up ready, like drinking water, sucking an icepole or having some fruit - clementines are lovely at the moment (nicotine does interfere with your blood sugar levels, that's 1 reason why some people eat more)

Make sure you drink lots anyway, water or perhaps herbal teas (not too much coffee/tea - they can be a trigger)

Remember, even if you do find it quite difficult at first, it will get easier..........you have done tremendously well already :T

Fee that is simply amazing, marvellous and downright blooming fantastic. I agree this thread is such a help and I too credit it with helping me develop my non existant willpower in the early days.

It is just so great to realise you definitely don't smoke anymore and what's more you barely think about it!!! Yay. :T:T:T

FEE100, I'm 3 days behind you. It'll be a year for me 19 December (overlook the one slip which made me violently ill!).

The time has gone so quickly. If someone had said to me this time last year that by the same time 2010 I'd be a non smoker, I would never have believed them.

Once again, if I can do it, anyone can. Best wishes to all of you who are quitting or thinking about it.
