Well done Splishsplash and dundeedoll :j:beer::j Isn't it a great feeling to see the days, then weeks and months roll by!!
I'm back on WW, dundeedoll - there's an offer on at the mo, and I got £15 money back through signing up via Quidco (being a real moneysaver these days!) I was just looking through the points lists for my fave choccies  - no wonder I've piled on the weight
That 3lb weight loss in week 1 gave me a real boost though - if I can give up ciggies then I'm sure I can stick with this diet.
Well done to everyone - keep posting and letting us know how things are going :T
Pam x0 -
Oh how right you are with your thoughts of if you can crack fags that you can certainly crack the weight Pam. A bit like fags too in that little by little!!!
Fancy you looking on WW for choccy points! I daren't have any of the darn stuff, though I do wish I was one of those who could safely have 4 squares a night.
A neighbour of ours, a fellar, does that and loves it.......I have nowt!!!!
Excellent news all, you're doing so very, very well and really do deserve the success you're out to get. Keep at it as you are and you'll get there! :T:T:T:T
Crikey DD, I pictured you with a really little one, so at 16.....do you want to borrow a helmet???!!! :rotfl: They do get better DD, at least my 2 did after the terrible teens, though they were a chalk and cheese combination....thank Heavens!I'd sooner have had them any day than not. :A:A
Thanks a lot for your feedback and thoughts crazyterrier2000, it's always good to know how folk get on with something different. All best wishes in quitting and please let us know how you get on.
Congratulations splishsplash!!:T It's good to hear from you and that you're doing so well. Keep at it.
All the best Daz and Alan, continue on with your dreaming!Day 5 is so very, very good Al!!!!
Look forward to seeing you on the SPC 3 board missi1!! Am I right in thinking it's just over a week since you stopped??
Please folks, have a look at this: Could you all kindly pop the time you've stopped smoking for and the means of stopping on the Title bars of each new (daily) post, please?! Eg: 2 months, four days, Champix
It honestly does help others and is helpful to you also! The thing that helps folk so much is seeing how long others have lasted as it spurs them on in letting them know it's doable. It also lets them see who's using what to quit with and lets them know more about the options and feedback from each.
Have another great day tomorrow everyone. If it's a bit of a problem then look ahead to the next which could well be brighter as that really is how it goes all too often. You CAN do it!!!
Sue x Wishing you well all the time.:A

Cigarettes not smoked: 1035; money saved €447.
Do you mind me asking how many you smoked a day/week?
I saw the amount for just over a month and was astonished!
(Is that euros or pounds?)
I was on about 10 or less a day - bought 3x 20 a week, so just over £60.00 a monthCigarettes not smoked: 1049; money saved €454I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Hi everyone you are all doing brilliant! Thanks for all your help I couldnt have even got this far without all your msgs of support.
Im now over a week and its suprising how quickly you get used to not being a smoker. You were all right when you said the cravings get less as the time passes.
The only time i really crave a cig is when im waiting for the train to uni. I think its just because im bored so il bring a good book with me from now on!
Dont worry missy I did the same as you the week before I quit. I made the mistake of smoking one a few days after I quit and like you said it was disgusting! Im actually glad it happened because now when I want a cig I just think back to that time and how it tasted and it puts me right off!! Just put it down to a blip and move on.
If I feel like smoking now I say to myself "ok Catherine go ahead, but you know it wont be just one it will be back to smoking full time". and that helps me more than when I used to say to myself "no you cant smoke Catherine" which made me want to smoke even more!
Hope everyone is ok, you are all doing brilliantly :T:T:T:T:TStopped smoking 15th Nov 2010

6 weeks 3 days Patches
Sorry not been back on since I quit but have managed to stop since the 7th of August.
I have had 2-3 cigs one night (week 3) when I was out with my friends who smoke but hated myself the next dayIt has spurred me on even more though as everytime I have a craving as I remember how much I hated myself the next day and the craving seems to pass
It is so much easier now and the very few cravings I get pass within a couple of minutes.
I did smoke 20 a day and each day it was costing £6 :O Since stopping smoking I have saved myself £270!!!!!!!!!!
Well Done on everyone who has stopped and Good Luck to everyone who is stopping. It does get so much easierxx

7 days - champix.
i went to the nhs smokefree today for my appointment, and to get another letter to give to the gp for 2 more weeks supply.
the measurement on the carbon monoxide machine was 2 !!! i thought it would have been zero, but he told me the lowest it measures is 1, he said everyone who has stopped measures 2 or 3. he was happy for me anyway, another boost.
the first week it measured 32, the 2nd week was 15 and today 2.
ive had a couple of cravings again today, but nothing bad.
i am confident i will never smoke again. keep up the good work everyone!
estimated saving so far is £50...................................how ever did i afford it ???????????????????????
p.s frugalpam - that little man eating the chocolate bunny made me laugh, i like it!0 -

I know Sue, I know...........he IS my little one (at 6ft :rotfl:)
My other lad is (just) 20 (he left home April 2008 but still miss him loads) and they too are totally chalk & cheese.
Still feeling really rough with this cold thing, so off to make another flask of peppermint tea and then shower and bed and maybe read a book for a while..........oh the joys of being single
Of course what I'd really like to make me better is TLC :kisses3:

That was a good offer! Not done WW but Slimming World in 2003 and found it great, still stick to it really. Don't really need it at the moment tho' - had to get some new jeans as my size 8s literally fell off me as I walked across Mr T's car park
Went straight back in to buy some but 8s were the smallest they had but managed to find some size 6 in Next across the road............smallest I've been since I was 11 - nearly 40 yrs ago!
It's not nice and everyone keeps moaning at me..........I suppose I'll put it on again soon as I start to feel better again.
Night everyone..........DD xNicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

Evening everyone  Great to see so many checking in
Congrats to everyone esp DD, Allan, Catherine, xxlaurissaxx, and splishsplash !! Well done !!
Allan - I bet you were well pleased when you saw that low reading on the carbon monoxide machine :j Those machines are a really good motivator
Fantastic weight loss, DD - wow, I can only dream about getting into size 8 jeans! I am so determined to get back in my size 12's, which are gathering dust in the wardrobe in the spare roomI will do it, am so determined. I think the confidence I've gained from kicking smoking has really fired me up to succeed.
xxlaurissaxx - you've done great! 6 weeks is a huge achievement. You too Catherine - before you know it, it'll be a month quit, and just think how great you'll feel
And before I go, just for Allan

Thanks, but it's not! My target at SW in 2003 was 9st 7lb and that was good and I stayed at that, but with splitting up with ex I very quickly went down to 8st 2lb and looked AWFUL!!
I have since giving up cigs gone up to 8st 9lb and am looking better.
Feel so rough and did go to bed but had to get up again as the ol' brain was in overdrive about ex..............
