Thanks a lot for that tip bluebellbunny! I'll give it a go and see what happens. It's never slow when I'm on there, it's when I come off that everything takes ages to get going again properly. We'll see what happens now though, thanks a lot. :T

WELL DONE on the download!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Seriously, I'll bet you feel 'loads' better now! Lets hope you can keep much freer now ....and lose weight!! :D You should be playing Beethoven or something classical, plenty of movements there and they may be catching!!! :D

Very well done with those stats, very impressive indeed. Keep going BBB ...in more ways than one!!

All the very best ALL, especially those of you like BBB!

    Hi everyone.

Been mad busy lately so have not checked in for some time. Welcome all the new quitters, do stick at it - the freedom is wonderful. You can actually live your life without a nagging itch that drags you away from and takes all the joy out of the simplest things.

If you have children, you are always waiting for them to get out of the way so you can light up. Very few of us can feel comfortable smoking around children. Seeing Mummy out in the back garden, puffing on that strange stinky white thing must be very perplexing for them.

Even if you don't have children, it will do wonders for your self esteem to know that you love yourself enough to rid your body of something that has no positives whatsoever.

If you are in your early days and the going is tough, just look at us longer termers and tell yourself it can be done, it may be difficult, but any corner can be turned. Maybe I made that up for you Different Corner, Hi by the way.

Well done to all of you - you are simply marvellous!!! :)

Emma133, you are not a "big old moaning grot bag". Sometimes it helps just to write it down even if noone is around to cheer us on. Strange isn't it how the bad times can just creep up on us? I have been pottering around outside all day without a thought of smoking and then tonight, it has hit me. Doesn't help that OH has been outside for a cigar, twice since supper.

Many thanks Sue-UU. I would love to bin the patches but am just not strong enough yet. I can cope with the cravings but not what I call the "black holes". Nothing as bad as when I went cold turkey last year, no sobbing for hours; just a fleeting feeling that I am sinking/falling. Chocolate! I need chocolate:D

Re your PC problem - sounds as though FB is not closing down properly. There is a fix that can be downloaded from the web - something to do with .netBroadcast. Have you tried a quick log off and then log on again? That always clears anything that has not shutdown.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

    Hello everyone!
Yes I am still smoke free, I am glad to see so many others are too:T

I think I am over the actual wanting a ciggy, I dont even think about them anymore, when I get a craving I reach for the niquitin. I am also still on the sugar free polos for the bordom factor.. I had another night out last night, I was the only person in that group that did not smoke but still was not tempted, sat there with my vodka and enjoyed the band!

I have another friend who is quitting, he has now done 9 days! I text him daily and he loves the support.. its good for me too :D

I have just treated the family to a WII console, the love it! they also think it came out of my savings from smoking they love it!! .. but I am happy to say that money is still there! I have been really good with money of late and had built up £1k on my prepay credit card:D so i have a secret stash of money that mummy is going to do something nice with, maybe build up and take them abroad next year..

I wish you all well, the new quitters and old. A smoke free more money future is better than we all had...

Hi again Larmy, you've been missed. Amazing news of you being so close to such an amazing time in quitting!!! I really am delighted for you!:T I can well remember that awesome feeling of real accomplishment on having reached my first complete year, it was then I really was 100% sure I'd never again have any of that evil chemical concoction going into my lungs! I was really sure before, but that year being marked emphasised it completely!! All you write about looking at your smoking self through a child's eyes is so very true and you wrote it perfectly! Good to see you Larmy.

Hi Emma, and don't worry as none of us would dream of referring to you as anything even remotely related to a "big old moaning grot bag". :naughty: At least I wouldn't!!;) You're totally normal Emma, and there aren't many of us who come through it all completely unscathed of any good, then bad, then good etc feelings. It all comes right through the course of time, be patient, but be very proud of each great day free!!!:j

Thanks a lot for the info about .netBroadcast oldreekie! I'll most certainly be trying it out as I've a lot of great friends on there and would love all to be ok again. I've never done the logging off, then logging on again, never thought about it being as the problems were after coming off, but I'll give that a go as well. Many thanks OR, you're a gem! I think I can understand a little of how you're feeling re the black hole part, but as I've said to Emma, time will sort it OR, that and the determination that I'm positive you have!!! Well done with all you've done so far though, you've come a long way and done yourself proud!!! What's it like with the change in the lower patches now?

Very well done indeed nervousmother, you really seem to be going great guns so far, keep it up and never let your defenses down for a moment! Great thing about the Wii, giving the family a boost as well as you! I was thrilled to read about your CC also, keep it up OM and look ahead to your dreams of the future as a free woman! Marvellous news about your friend still doing so well, you really are doing each other so much good. Very well done NM!!!

Great news about how far you've come jammy dodger! :TYou also are doing amazingly well and have so much to be delighted with! Thanks for your advice and thoughts above to all, they're good for enticing others to think about giving up, a great incentive for all here too! Thanks jammy, I really appreciate your help!

Great news all round taxi!!! :T You're doing so well with saving your health as well as your money, yet at the same time ...you're losing TOO ..in the weight department!!! It's amazing just how much we can achieve when we put our minds to it. You've even encouraged me to lose 3 or 4 Lbs before summer arrives, thanks Taxi, I really am thrilled about that jog you've given me!! :j

OK everyone, another week dawns, another week to get closer to your goals and to achieve all you hoped for with regards to becoming smoke-free! You all know that it can be done, and I'm sure you know that YOU can beat this evil addiction now you've truly put your minds to it. Come on everyone, lets kick nicotine out of your lives FOR GOOD!!!!!!!:j

Wishing each of you on to win! Sue x

Sorry all - I've been really busy & still not had a fag since i stopped on the 14th Feb.
I can't believe I've come this far & a lot of it's down to you lot at the start.

I had to stop taking the Champix as I could not sleep & felt pretty strange.

I'm doing fine & hardly have cravings but I don't mix with anyone who smokes - so maybe cheating a little but who cares.
All the best to everyone - If I can stop any one can.

That's not cheating in anyway choille, it's being sensible and doing at all at YOUR pace and that's what's most important, truly it is.

It's really wonderful to see you back again and to see you've remained true to your desires to give it all up! I couldn't be more delighted for you choille, and that means it'll be 2 months tomorrow!!! :T Very well done indeed!! You've come so far, be proud of all you've achieved and the cigs you've NOT had! :D I'm not surprised about the Champix, goes to show you don't need it now though. Stay strong all the time choille and look forward to all the benefits of quitting, especially in Scotland with summer coming!

Stay strong everyone, and look forward to getting out in the good weather and breathing in the fresh air rather than the smoke-filled type!
