Hi Sue-UU and Happy Easter to you, too. I did see the pharmacist yesterday: she was no help at all but did acknowledge that it is a common problem. I will take off the patch as soon as the irritation begins and rely on the lozenges, as suggested though they are giving me short, sharp headaches.

I am determined to win through and not be beaten. The first goal has been met this week - when saying farewell to DS, I smelt of expensive, warm perfume rather than eau d' ashtray (is that grammatically correct? :D ). Long term goal is to be just as fragrant on his return.

Next short-term goal is to be a non-smoker when in hospital next month :j

    Happy easter everybody.

Im not really getting cravings this time around. Hope Im not being lulled into a false sense of security. I like to think its because, Ive made up my mind once and for all.

Im very annoyed tonight. Ive have just found out that my neighhbour knew my cat was injured and didnt have the decency to knock on my door and tell me. Makes me think he had something to do with it. He also said that it was my cat that was the bully. My cat has never had a fight in its life. It doesnt go out of the garden and is as soft as butter. They only moved in a couple of months ago. He also said he cat has been spayed. It obviously hasnt because, it spends all night crying and screaming. Im so annoyed. I love my animals very much and certainly would not leave my cat out all night. Its a good job I didnt speak to him. Mum relayed all this info to me. I would have been guilty as charged.

Shes still not recovered. Shes got to go back to the vets on tuesday. But her eyes dont look right, and shes very jumpy. I do voluntary work for the pdsa so might ask for some advice.

I better go and try and calm down. Have a lovely smoke free easter everybody.

Thank you sue-uu and old reekie for your words of wisdom and encouragement god bless you.

Thank you oldreekie. :) So it was your dear Son that you have had to say farewell to, I see now why you were as you were last week. No doubt you'll have contact though and if you haven't tried Skype (totally free calls all over the world) and webcam then please give it a go, it's marvellous! :) No need to use a web cam if you don't want to, just download Skype.

For now though, you have the following year to get yourself completely free of all that came with this horrible smoking lark, and I sincerely hope you'll do it, he certainly will too!! :D Be careful with the lozenges and headaches, are you any good with any sort of gum? If not then go with anything that you think can help you. You have a lot of determination though, that in itself is a Godsend!!

A Happy Easter to you too Jojo.Try hard not to let ignorant folk get to you too much as it really isn't worth letting them get your stress levels up and risking the unthinkable again! You're better than him Jojo, be happy with that knowledge. :T It's still only Saturday yet, so there's still more time for your poor cat to be able to recover yet. A good idea to seek help from the PDSA though, why not! Well done on staying free from the whatsits again yesterday, and if ever you feel stressed, concentrate on breathing deeply in then slowly out, and focus hard on other beautiful things in your life, or wonderful memories from the past.

Another step closer with each day passed folks, be so very proud of that day and all the ones that have already gone by smoke-free before. You've so much to be thrilled about, I am for you! :D

Thank you Sue-UU for your kind words of encouragement. You are remarkable - you are! You come here every [STRIKE]day[/STRIKE], sorry, night with words of wisdom and encouragement for wrecks like me! :A :T:T:T

Yes, I have Skype set up. It is all so much "easier" to stay in contact with folk these days; I have even succumbed to Facebook :(

Well done, jammy dodger :j Yes, I am amazed at how little I think about smoking these days - when, it used to rule my life. The urges do come out of the blue but then this weekend I am sharing the house with 2 smokers (outside) ....... and a full tummy (bad, very bad) does make me want a cigarette. I wish nobody had bought me chocolate eggs :(

    Well done, everybody :j:j:j

    Hello taxi73 and welcome!

Others with more experience will be along to give you advice and encouragement but I just wanted to say that you have done really well and should be over the most difficult part now :j As for losing weight, it is impossible to eat with a lozenge in your mouth :D

Good luck. You will soon realise that this thread is an invaluable aid to stopping smoking.
