Hi everyone, just thought I'd pop in and say hello.
I'm still doing fine, I've actually been shocked at how easy I've found it to give up. I mean, I was smoking 20 a day for 8-9 years and thought I'd never be able to do it.
Anyway, good luck to everyone else and if you're finding it difficult, remember it'll get easier over time. Fight the urge!0 -
FREE NRT - 4MG NIQUITIN MINIS!Hi Guys! I have two full and sealed packets of 4mg NiQuitin Minis that I want to get rid off. My Drs gave me 3 packets and after trying a single little lozenge I knew that they weren't for me. Called Pharmacy to see if I could take them back (well at least the two sealed packets anyway) but was told that once anything left the pharmacy they couldn't take it back and that I should just throw them in the bin! Was going to put them on Ebay and just charge for the postage but thought someone on here might want them....? Maybe you could send me some stamps or something? Not really sure how it would work, but if you can think of a way and would like them I will gladly send them out to you.......PM me if you have any questions
Oh, will also include the open pack if you like - there is only two missing and seems a shame to just chuck them!GOOD LUCK ALL! :beer:The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

Hi all, just a quick'n tonight folks.
No doubt Choille and ......can't think of her name?>? are biding time, waiting to come on here delighted with their success. I really do hope so.
Great to see you back again fliss! 2 weeks is GREAT, so's keeping busy! :T
You also bucketshop! By golly you've done marvellously! Keep it up and all too soon you'll be gradually regaining your health and, if you stay with it, be back to normal, especially having only smoked for 8 - 9 years. Believe me, it's a very small time compared with most of us. I'm really thrilled for you that you were sensible and quit whilst you were still young. Excellent! :T
Great to see you again Pam and many congratulations on over 14 months freedom from fags!!! :T It's so good to hear that your great niece has never known you as a smoker, really something to be proud of. It really does thrill you, I know. Well done Pam!!! Thanks so much for coming back and letting everyone see that it really CAN be done!
Have a wonderful smoke-free day everyone and keep up the terrific work!

Hi all Im what would be called a serial quitter. I want to quit but my hearts not been in it. Anyway I made a promise! The cat had to go to the vets. I really did think she was on her last legs. I said that if she was ok that I would give up and stay that way. It could be divine intervention!!! She was given 2 injections painkiller and antibiotics. Got to go back on thursday. I couldnt afford to smoke even if I wanted to because of the vet bills. Will report back and let you know how she gets on at her next appointment.
My sil put me to shame she has been given up for 3 wks she didnt smoke as many as I used to.
Im not even missing the cigaretts atm. Trouble with sleeping though. Best wishes to everyone wherever they are in there journey.
Jojo x:)Proud to be dealing with my debts:jEver the optomist0 -

Hi Jojo, I know what you mean about vet bills . Remember take it one day or even if necessary one hour at a time.
The sleeping improves so hang on in there. We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing.0 -
I hope your kitty is OK. You can do it! Today I am celebrating my two year anniversary after smoking for 20 years. I had a nasty nasty nasty cold (probably man-flu even though I'm a female!!) and didnt smoke when I had the cold and just didnt start again. My head was in the right place and I really wanted to give up so I did. I still sometimes get stressed and think I could do with one but no no no!!!
Apparently the nicotine recepters in the brain take just 11 seconds to be addicted again
My advice is: Be in the right place, Have a reason, stick at it and if you start again then try again, it'll happen if you want it enough!!! Good luck to all xxxMFW 2011 No. 161 £946.54/£2000 TargetApril 9/15March 14/15

Hi everyone!
jojodod, hope you are doing okay and that your poor little cat is well on the way to recovery. The sleeping does improve. I tried taking the patches off at night for awhile but had to leave them on as I woke up thinking about cigarettes - but that was weeks ago :j
So, according to SilkQuit.......
7 weeks 2 hours and 37 mins
982 cigarettes not smoked
£275.01 saved.
Hope you all have a memorable Easter but .... not too much chocolate!
Just remembered why I came on here today ..... is anyone else having a problem with patches? Hot, sore and itchy? I had to tear mine off last night; coped without it thank goodness but do not want to have to do it everyday. Help?I am a non-smoker :j last cigarette 10th February 20100 -

Im still here still not had any still taking it a day at a time!
I tried a couple of years ago with the patches, I had a nasty rash with them, swollen square where the patch was, red hot and itchy! gave them up..
The zyban really didnt agree with me either! iv found my lifeline with these little lozenges though..
Some days i find this really hard..
Keep up the good work everyone!0 -
Come on Jojo! You know you have it in you to beat your SIL as well as help pay for your cat's bills. THIS TIME ROUND - yes??! Just because you smoked more than her doesn't mean she found it any easier. Go on, don't let her be the only winner! :j Well done on 4 days! Get nice and relaxed at late evening with a good hot, but not too hot, bath or shower, have some drinking chocolate and have a read of something relaxing to try to help you sleep. You keep on coming back Jojo, so it proves you WANT to say goodbye to those nasty fags.
Good advice for all quitters DansMum! Thanks a lot for that and many congratulations on having achieved SO very much!!!:T
Congratulations on having got to 7 weeks oldreekie!!! :T It sounds as though the patches are affecting you too much now, after all 7 weeks is a long time for something like that (alien). Many folk have complained about the same problem over the last couple of years though so it isn't just you. Try putting it somewhere else on your body oldreekie and see if that's any better, or if it comes to it, try without and see how you go. It may be worth having a word with your Pharmacist on Saturday, though I don't think he/she would be able to help too much. Try a bit of Savlon or something similar for now. Why not do as nervousmother suggests and give the lozenges a go. All in all though, you've used the parches for 7 weeks now, you might even be able to get by with some ordinary gum. Keep up the fruit and water and get plenty of exercise. Whenever you get a crave breathe deeply and focus hard on something very beautiful. You CAN do it OR, you know you can! Don't forget your mantra AND the 7 weeks of success so far which is fantastic!!
Brilliant nervousmother!!! :T You're over 3 weeks now and doing marvellously. Keep that health in the forefront of your mind, it's that you need to focus oon all the time and which, all being well, WILL get you through it!!
Keep up the wonderful work everyone, this is the best thing you'll ever do for yourselves, and it's the very best gift you could ever give yourselves too! Keep watching that winning post, you CAN get there!
Take care everyone and have a really wonderful Easter! :easter_ba
