Welcome to the thread shaven-monkey, and very well done on starting to quit! Very good advice to Leela!

Hi nervousmother, you're still doing so very well and have a lot to be proud of - and that's just so far! :) You may well be right about it being in your mind when you say you pop a lozenge in your mouth and soon feel so much better. Each lozenge contains 4 mg nicotine (as nicotine resinate) so when you can why not try ordinary gum now and again it'll help wean you off, or at least lessen the lozenges even more. BTW, how many cigs did you have when you had your blip??

Oh I am indeed oldreekie, and what an orrible thought!! :( Put like that though it really urges you on to go the whole hog. That's a great life-saving too - 2 great piles to focus on if ever you get a weak moment for sure! ;) Very well done OR!!

I'm thinking of you Leela and hoping so much that all went well and that you didn't need to touch any of them. All the best from here whatever you did.

Have a really lovely Sunday everyone and whatever stage of quitting you're at, pat yourself on the back for all that you've put into it and all you've achieved! Even if it's only an hour, day or week that you've stopped for so far ...as smokers from the past, we all know it's a heck of a good while already!! Be PROUD!! :)

  • Hi All :) WELL DONE to all of you who have decided to give up the evil weed! Day 14 for me now BUT friend came to visit on Friday and we went out and got VERY drunk, bar staff sent over SUPER jager bombs and that's the last I remember but friend says we stayed for a lock in!!!! Also when I proudly proglaimed in the morning that I hadn't smoked even being that drunk friend said that I did have a puff of someones cigarette (with inhaler in other hand!) but I DON'T REMEMBER  and if it is true it hasn't made me want to have another one so am happy about that and I'm not going to count it since if she hadn't told me I never would have known! SOOO still on day 14 and STILL very determined so onwards and upwards :T and it IS getting much easier. Be back soon....Bluebell :rotfl:

Bluebunny I thought going out would be the hardest part for me, I stopped on the 22nd february after ending up in hospital and getting told I have COPD I had a blip 19 days ago now, that started with me getting drunk on the friday night and smoking:(
In the past 18 days though, i have had a weekend away with a smoking friend, been out and got drunk about 4 times too, and not had a blip since! even last night.. and i was on the old jager too! although i get tempted every now and again I just keep thinking.. ooo 18 days now do i really want to go back to day 1? after all I should now be on day 34..

Keep up the good work and try not to have any more blips.:D
    I now have £175 in money saved:T

just popping by to wish everyone on their smoke free journey a wonderful week ahead ENJOY the FREEDOM .:j

It truly is a release not having every waking thought and movement dictated by when / where you can have your next fag ..

My mantra in the early days was "smokings not my friend it will not make me feel better " think i was reday to be certified as repeating it outloud at work whenever i was tempted :D

Each day i am thankful , proud but never complacent , i know that " JUST ONE WONT HURT " temptation lurks i keep my mantra in mind

    Stay strong everyone x x

Excellent jammy dodger and oldreekie, at least you've both stayed on the straight and narrow!! :T:T

Thanks for answering nervousmother, I was hoping perhaps it might have been just the one, in which case we count it as a blip and move on, but 4 cigs over 3 days is a bit too much. However, keep both amounts of time (since 21st Feb as well as 19 days) in mind as it may well prove to be your saving grace from another slip up!

The perils of drink eh Bluebell.! Still, at least, as far as you know, you only had the one so forget it and keep looking ahead. You say "still on day 14", but do you realise that means you've been free for TWO weeks? To my mind it always sounds the greater of the two. Well doneBluebell.!!! :T

Well done Leela and thank Heavens you were disgusted by it! The Champix helps in making it that way, a great benefit too!

Please folk, do be wary of drink when you're at a very vulnerable stage, especially if you're inclined to get more than tipsy as you've know idea what goes on then - and neither do friends! Aside from that you're all doing so very well. Be proud as you step into another fresh week - smoke-free! :D

Hi everyone just thought I'd bob on and say hi.

I'm still going strong and feel I'm doing quite well, not as many mental arguments with myself atm.

I feel the next couple of weeks is going to be the tester for me as the kids broke up from school friday for easter, hopefully I am going to be a nice not too grumpy mummy this holiday.

Hope everyone is doing well, and coping well

To be honest I am glad Im counting like that, in my head i know if i didnt count the blip id have nothing to stop me saying 'one wont hurt' the thought of going back to day one is awful:D

some days are better than others and i know im still in early days. I know the tests will remain probably for years to come! seeing the money build up is fantastic too!:T
I will be strong and hope everyone else trying is too
