Had a wobble last Saturday - a few hours of feeling very low, lonely and missing smoking. It passed though, and I'm still here smoke free :j

With hugs and smiles to all the quitters out there. Without this wonderful thread I don't think I would have made it this far. Thanks to everyone,

  • Afternoon all.

Been a busy 6 or 7 days so haven't been able to get online much other than for work stuff.

I've not been too bad craving wise, although had a few occasions wanting one fairly badly. Personal stuff is still going on but I seem to be dealing with it at the mo although last night was difficult.

Nice to see we have acquired some new blood.

Anyway keep up the good work folks, your all doing great.

I wish everyone health and happiness stay strong x x

    Hi Boys & Girls

I hope everyones okay and still smoke free.

Im still going strong and doing well, fags seem a thing of the past for me already. However i know i could be running before I can walk, however im determind to quit for good.

I was wondering why do people say that week 3 is the worst when you give up smoking?

Hi Stclair. Great to hear you are still going so well.

Do you think the three week thing could be to do with the saying that it takes 21 days to break a habit?

It could be that at week three, we sense that we have kicked nicotine to the kerb and the realisation dawns, that much as we want it, we really are nicotine free and no longer have our crutch.

This may explain why some people panic and decide to have one to prove they have stopped and don't need it.............and you guessed ........find that they are back at square one!!!!!!

Just my musings on the subject. :0

    Thanks for that larmy.

I realised some other people at work have given up recently.

So now I know there in the same boat as me its makes me even more determind not to fail.

  • Still doing totally fine, no cravings at all and hang out with smoking friends at least 3 times a week with alcohol involved.

I'm starting to notice how much my friends smell of smoke though!!!

:j I reached my one year anniversary of having quit smoking yesterday :j It feels really great - and even though work is stressful I've not once been tempted to go and buy or scrounge ciggies :D

I am now, according to quitnet.com, a Dr of Quitology!

Stick with it, you new quitters - this CAN be done with the right mindset and determination to rid yourselves of this horrible addiction
