Morning everybody!
Here is to another shiny new non smoking week for us all.
I went to visit a smoking friend this weekend. She had about four cigs while I was there. It really affected my throat for the whole evening and of course all my clothes smelled awful and had to go straight in the wash. Infact I keep a special set to wear there.
She lives in a council property but I cannot help wondering if in the future when someone applies to be housed - will there be a Do you smoke? box and if you say yes, your application will be denied?
It also says any workers have the right to refuse to carry out any repairs if you are a smoker! It is definitely a sign of the times though.
Let's face it - there are a million reasons to not smoke ever again!!
Keep it up all you new quitters. You are doing really well.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Morning everyone,
Hey janie, that's amazing and well done to you! My DH gave up smoking 2 years before me, and managed it - and he has very weak willpower! You can do it!
So, I think it's now 2.5 weeks, I'll need to stop counting the days soon as I can't keep up!
Keep going everyone xx0 -
Well done janiebaby! 5 days is great!
My OH still smokes too. It's not putting me off at all. I figured that cigarettes are everywhere, in the shops, people smoking on the street, outside pubs etc, I may as well get used to being around smokers and saying no.
Your OH may not be supporting you yet but I bet it's slowly sinking in. Before you know it there will be less cigs getting smoked, offers to smoke outside instead of next to you, and let's face it, all smokers are in awe of those who have quit because everyone really wants to quit given it's such a pointless and dangerous thing to do. You're setting the best example to your OH cos you're showing it can be done.
Yey to you and all of us!!!! We're brilliant!!!:j:T:j:TDebt @ Dec 2009 £10,026.05

Well done luckycharm, ceebaby and janie.
All the little jumps seem to make a difference, days then weeks strange to think I am now more than two and a half months smoke free now.
Haven't been to bad at the weekend, few desires to have one on Saturday but other than that not too bad. Still put it down to other personal matters getting to me rather than it being just the normal wanting for one.
Well done all, let's keep it up.Smoke free since November 2009.

Smoking hadn't even crossed my mind for about three days until I came to work this morning and saw all the butts on the ground (on a no smoking campus...). Even when it does come into mind, it's not in a craving sense, more as an abstract thought or a distant memory.
Have a shocking cold and so glad not still compelled to smoke - I used to smoke however bad I felt!
Have lost the 4lbs I put on over Christmas/since quitting, so am now back to normal weight. I'm not going to start being obsessive over the scales, though, and will use clothes as a guide.
Still drinking lots of water, also eating loads of fruit and vegetables.
Feel very tired because watched the snooker to the end last night - well done Mr Selby :T
Thinking of everyone on here and sending positive thoughts to all.
