That's it janiebaby29, stick to your guns, it's the only way to win, whether he does or not. Though, I suspect he'll soon get the jist that you mean what you say - AND follow suit!:T

Congratulations Mollie!!! :T You've done brilliantly to achieve that amount of time. Stay strong and keep up the GREAT work!!!

Worry NOT stclair! Once you've got to grips with being an ex-smoker you'll find that you get far less stressed than ever you did as a puffer. It's the nicotine that stresses us and every time we have a ciggie our stress goes up. Therefore when you've quit you'll find that stress is far easier to handle and passes far sooner than in your smoking years.

Well done Luckycharm, keep praising yourself along the way and stay strong.

Oh dear Ceebs, you're going to pot! It was a fortnight yesterday, Thurs 14th, that's IF you actually went Jan 1st without a cig. Whichever, you've done darn well to get where you are so praise is due wherever you're at. Try counting the achievement more than the actual days and moments, the fact is that you've GIVEN UP smoking!!! Congratulations Ceebs! :T

Congratulations to you also glo, another of life's great achievers!!! Keep strong and keep it up!:D

Welcome to the thread Heather76! Congratulations for having gone 4 days already, a lot to be proud of!! :T You give vent with your feelings as much as you want, just wait until you're here and shouting and singing about all you've got through too mind!!! :j

Another great smoke-free day got through EVERYONE!!! :T You're doing yourselves SO very proud!!! Stay with it and love each day!

I must say ive had a really horrible day personally at work today etc.

When I do give up smoking I dont know if I would be able to get through the day without a cig, as specially today has been really stressful.

While it isn't easy, you've got to try it.
Don't let the thought of it even put you off trying to quit (which it seems you are doing)
The fear of giving up is much worse than the actuality.
That's the cunning thing about nicotine addiction - it tells you that you CANNOT give up (which is total baloney)

Very well said indeed Graeme! It really is that simple stclair! "Easy for you to say being ex-smokers" you might be thinking, but - we only know because of the experience and it DOES turn out to be just as Graeme says. The fear you have is never, ever worth it....you'll see! :D

Great news janiebaby29! :T Have a wonderful day and enjoy the changes that are already beginning to take place within you! :j

Well done Heather 76 on deciding to quit you are doing amazingly well and a warm welcome to the forum here ,I am on day 12 and like you have tried to quit in past and restarted again . I did use gum for the first couple of days but found drinking cold water and being generally occupied helped me through those initial sticky , wanting to rip someones head off days... STAY FOCUSSED on the reasons why you want to quit in first place and reap those rewards along with the rest of us . Good luck on your journey x x
