Errr, so why are these ads all over the TV then in Scotland!!!!!

do you think if I emailed back and said it's okay, I'm expat English, and even though I now live in Scotland - I'm still human .... or do you think they'll think ... wow, she's a narky ex-smoker already - doesn't need the kit!

Thank you for your interest in NHS Stop Smoking literature, unfortunately we are only able to fulfil requests to addresses in England. For support in your area please see the contact information below:

  • Hi Everyone

Just thought I would say hello and wish you all best, you are all doing so well.

It is over 3 months for me now and will be 4 months on 5 Feb, it does get easier as time goes on. I do still get the off pang, but just think NO who wants to be stood outside in these Artic conditions.

I have been to a few social gatherings at peoples houses and it is suprising how few smokers there are, most of the time there are none.

Anyways wishing you all the best and well done.
  • Haven't been here for a while - It's all gone a little bit wrong!:(
I'd been doing really well til I went on holiday, & ended up smoking loads!!

Though I was good as I didn't bring the usual couple of thousand back with me..& didn't smoke the first week I got back..

Had the worst day ever at work today, & think impulse made me buy a pack..

Can I please have a bit of encouragement to get me back on track - I was really enjoying being a non-smoker!!

Ps - very well done to everyone who's managed to stay smoke free!:j

Ahhh St Clair, I didn't see your message when i first posted the line below! That's so sweet and kind, but I don't think we're allowed to do that under board rules etc. I emailed them anyway and copied in the DoH, so they might take pity on me and send one anyway!

I am narky and the world needs to know it at the moment x

Tiger-eyes, come on ... you can do it! You know you can, because you've done it before!! The vibe in here is good at the moment, so come and join in again xxx

Then it is time for the celebrities to smoke their last cigarette before their first smoke-free evening. SUB

I quite agree with your thoughts on the plastic ciggies Desert Flyer, all the reasons you've given make perfect sense and I'd only wish to steer folk away due to the fear of them going back to the real thing. Could see your point for a possible temporary thing though larmy, but a difficult one.

Congratulations skr!!!:T By heck, is it really THAT long ago! Thanks for a great and motivating post and all best wishes. Sue.

Oooh cbeebs, sooo very close to 2 weeks, keep up the great work!

Sorry Viv,I don't know anything about NiQuitin minis. Try googling it and see if you can find more that way. We're here if you decide to try quitting, you'd be welcome to join us.

Hi again chevettehs, all things considered, it sounds as though you're doing really well. 9 weeks free is marvellous! :TAll the best from here on with everything.:)

Well done TigerLilley, a good start.! No doubt the headache is due to the stress of quitting, let's hope tomorrow sees you free from it. All the best for day 2!

Good for you stclair! So many who have been on Champix were eager to get to the quit date, it'll come soon enough. That programme should be worth a watch, it may do a lot of good for all those out there still trying to get the courage up to stop too.

Well done glo, another one sooo very close to 2 weeks, keep up the great work!

Congratulations kasmc!! Thanks for putting your post here to help spur the others on.

Congratulations Fee!!! :TYou've done amazingly well, now go and thoroughly enjoy your pampering session - as you say, you deserve it!!!

Good to see you Joanne, and don't forget we're here for when you're ready to chuck it all!! To keep smoking will only aggravate the asthma for certain!!

Wonderful news Sexy Legs,3 months is terrific! :TAll the best for you continuing on with it, please keep in touch with us!

Bad luck tiger-eyes, a real rotten shame! Still, back to the beginning and onwards from here. You KNOW you CAN do it, and you'll definately get all the encouragement and support necessary from us all

Great work everyone! You're all doing so very well. Pat yourselves on the back and push on and remember, every day counts SO very much and is another along your journey!

    Morning !!
I didnt post yesterday as hubbie has some fags and i smoked two without my patch , i was annoyed with both him and me so have started afresh today and he has his own patches , Ive already slapped one on him before he's even got out of bed :D
I did have a stomach ache the first day i was on patches and felt really ill and slept a fair bit . Why was this ??
Also i take tramadol for my back pain and i think this really clashed with them .
i will stay off the painkillers during the day and take them at night .
Anyway as i said i did really well lasting till 5.30pm until hubbie ruined it .
I have taken his card so he cant get any money to buy them .
hee hee , that will teach him .
anyway im on the right track and will keep updating !!!
