Wouldn't that be terrific larmy! As Tippytoes points out, why give it to the government when we can save it ourselves! The greatest saving being that of good health! :hello: I see you sorted your colours out ok errr uhm....though your number isn't there yet.....

Hi Everybody,
Just checking in to say many many congratulations to the new & soon-to-be quitters. I cannot believe it has now been 7 whole months since I gave up the costly, dirty, filthy nicotine addiction & if I can do it after 30yrs (20 a day) please believe me, you too can do it especially with the dedicated help & encouragement on this site by SUE-UU & LARMY (god bless them both). I'd just like to wish each & everyone of you a happy. healthy & most of all smokefree new year. Good luck to you ALL in your quest of a healthier lifestyle.0 -
Hi folks,
Hasn't been too bad I guess, not as hard as I anticipated. I have kept myself going by reading snippets of info on here when i felt like I really needed to smoke.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement so far. Im nearly 26 hours in and i know it will all be worth it in the end!!:D:D:D
I have just ordered myself a takeaway as a little reward to myself for managing to get myself through the first day. I am feeling really upbeat and have decided to leave off the diet until I feel a bit more comfortable with the idea of not smoking to stop me feeling hungry:o
Keep on quitting everyone. We will be rid eventually0 -
Hi everyone
I gave up 5 days ago and am still scared stiff, I've not left the house for 5 days and am so worried that i'll want to smoke again as soon as I actually leave the house, that's why I'm not taking any money out with me tomorrow when I go back to work. I only gave up due to severe harassment from someone else but now I'm enjoying the fact that my flat doesn't smell as bad. Only problem is that I may have to wash my entire wardrobe as everything smells to me!
Wish me luck.
Cheers
Casper

Hi all
Still not smoking, and curiously I'm starting NOT to count how many days it's been since I last smoked (11 days, I think).
FEE 100, I'm OK with the patches. The first couple of days I left them on 24/7, but found that they really disrupted my sleep and induced some weird and wonderful dreams. So, I take the patch off at bedtime, and stick a new one on when I get up. I do notice a "nicotine rush" after half an hour or so of sticking it on, and I sometimes feel just a bit sick. Other than that, I'm fine. I'm delighted to have deprived the government of eleven days worth of fag tax $$$£££, and I actually spent the savings at the sales today :j.
Stick with it guys...............0 -
3XsAlady, congratulations on your 7 months, please let us know how you feel, how long did it take for your body to get back to normal? Fantastic achievement :T

Luckycharm wrote:I've made it through my second day which thankfully was much easier than the first. Me and OH went for a walk in the snow. It was lovely to breathe all that fresh air and feel invigorated by it. I'm drinking OJ and water and eating lots of fruit, which is helping I think. I also got the best sleep ever last night.
LC, you are doing everything perfectly...excellent work indeed!!! :T Keep it up and stay strong!!
Hiya Chrissy (3XsAlady)!!! It's wonderful to see you back again, 7 months eh!!! You had success written all over you just as Feedumall did, and we have so many just like you here now!:D I hope all is well with the family and that your little one is doing wonderfully well!! A very Happy New Year to you and ALL the family Chrissy! Sue
Very well done selinalauren! It's a good idea to reward yourself as what you're doing is terrific, but - do be careful with the food part. It IS possible to do both at the same time, so long as you reach for healthy snacks, fruit, water and taking plenty of exercise! A combination of all soon makes you feel so good about yourself!:D As you say, it will all be worth it in the end. :j
Hi Casper and welcome to the thread! As Jo has already said, please don't be scared as you're doing something that thousands of folk wish with all their hearts they had the courage to do. The fear of something is all too often far worse than the event itself, no doubt you'll be fine when you get to work, all through your shift too, and others will envy you for what you're doing. Never mind the person who caused you to quit, though in a way they may have done you a kindness! Anyway, you just carry right on and focus on the 4 days clean, your flat smelling fresher too. If necessary, wash or dry clean all your clothes, it all helps in making you feel so good. You say you've been indoors for 4 days, that might be half your problem, lack of exercise! Please get out and get plenty of exercise, you'll soon feel a WHOLE lot better for it. Trust yourself Casper, it sounds as though you're stronger than you think.
Tippytoes - you're doing really well. Keep up the wonderful work. I'm pleased you're leaving the patches off at night, a lot of folk find it the best way. Stay strong - healthy too!!
Hiya Feedum!!! :j It's so very good to see you back here again, especially at a time when people really need some inspiration form those who've got through it all, it goes to show them that they too can get through it and come out the other side unscathed! Congratulations on terrific success Feedum!!! :T
Hi FEE, you poor lass. So sorry to hear how dreadful you're feeling, I've just checked back through your posts to see how you're actually giving up, but it doesn't specify anything. Are you using patches or Champix or anything similar? If you're on anything like that then it could be your reason. If not then you have one he*l of a cold or - flu?! As Jo says though it could be something to do with quitting though I've never heard anyone feeling THAT bad! Some people have colds, sore throats or sinus problems, thses are only temporary and soon go, leaving you feeling wonderful again. See how you go Fee, but if you need the Dr, then call him/her! I truly do hope you're feeling SO much better soon! SueHang on a mo, wasn't it you who said the patches were giving you a rash on your legs?? Ring your Dr Fee!!
Thanks for the explanation Bruce, I'm with you though was bloomin confused the other night. Very well done with what you've achieved so far Bruce, you're really doing great! :T
Any lurkers thinking about quitting - come on in and join us - if nothing else you can give it a go and see how you get on. Nowt to lose!
A Very Happy New Year to all those who won't be back til after....and those who will!!
