You're so right JayJay - I used to thing that if the cigs don't get me the cold air and earache would!

When I went to see the nurse about giving up smoking she commented on my grey looking skin and the dark marks under my eyes, and that they would change. I thought - yeah-right. Today someone has actually said how fresh my skin is looking and how well I'm looking, which after 2 weeks of flu/cold, no fresh air or excercise is amazing! They didn't know that I used to smoke or had given up so ????

Now that I don't have to go to the shops for cigs, I'm going to have a go at one of the No Spend Day challenges. My only regular outgoing now (apart from the bills) is satsumas!

Not really having any cravings now. Still have my 'phone, fags, cash, keys' checklist before I leave the house but can cope with that. I put on a fleece that I hadn't worn for a while and found a lighter in the pocket, so I looked round for my cigs! Doh!

I think I'm doing really well but I know that in 18 months or whenever, I must not ever ever say 'just the one wont hurt'. There is NEVER just the one.

Everyone is doing so well, this is something that can be beaten and we can all help each other beat it!

Love and luck to all x

    Hi All,

Just popping in to say well done and welcome to any newbies.

I'm on day 5 of the tablets, so far so good although occassionally feeling a little out of place, not light headed as such but not quite right. I walked into a wall at work and tripped over a recycling bin which neither had been moved.. it was definitely me! :rotfl:

I've also noticed less consumption. At home DH and I go outside in the garden to smoke, come rain, snow, sun..(you get the picture ;)) Well, in the evenings I have had one about 6.30 after dinner and before getting DS ready for bed and then not had another until about 10pm. Also at work not going out every hour like I used to so something is definitely working :j

Have a good smoke free day everyone else!

Really pleased for you Naomim. It's strange isn't it that the thought of a ciggie just doesn't seem to enter your head. Good luck.

Hope everyone will start feeling better soon with all the coughs and colds that are about. I just can't wait for lighter evenings and some daffodils to start poking their ways through the ground.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Sounds like something I did a few years ago .. walked into a mirror and apologised to it :o

Great news that you're cutting down already .. I stopped a bit earlier than my actually quit day (using champix) just because i'd finished a packet and couldn't be bothered getting another one :)

Hi all, you are doing sooo well. I have to confess yesterday I caved in and bought a packet of 10, I know it was sooo stupid of me, and I didn't enjoy it, I felt sick and queezy but still managed to smoke 5 of them!

Today I am fine though, and haven't had any cravings that are too bad, I am sooo dissapointed with myself but am trying to get into the frame of mind that one slip up isn't the end of the world and trying soo hard to focus on the other 7 days that I did so well.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Well, sounds like you know you screwed up and are willing to set the clock back to zero.

8 days for me now - though I cannot say the week flew by. It didn't :rotfl:
