Hi themammy!! Very many congratulations on being free of the awful weed for 17 weeks, that is terrific news!!!! :T I often wondered what happened to you and the others, hopefully they'll come back with great news just like you too! I really do hope so. The disgusting smell of smoke on people or in homes etc is evident to most of us straight away after quitting.

I think with the sleeping patterns and dreams that so much depends on everyone as individuals and no one can predict which way it'll be for each person. However, if they are affected by them, then we all know well that it soon returns to normal. Champix alone has it's own side effects of which disturbed sleep is one. Bear with it is all I can advise, don't expect that it'll happen and don't be perturbed IF it does or about how long it will affect you. Plenty of exercise, fresh air, relaxing baths/showers and Drinking Chocolate are great things to try and succeed with! Try to not focue yourselves on smoking and imagined problems before or while you're quitting, focus your minds on the wonderful things in your lives!

Well done joop and you themammy, fantastic news!!!

  • Morning everyone - I had a brill night sleep, but the first thing on my mind wasn't a cigarette, it was what the world was going to look like when I looked out of the window (snow or no-snow) luckily no snow :D on my trudge into work this morning I decided to find one good thing about not smoking every day (and if I can't think of one it will be the money I'm saving) so yesterday's was I could still smell my perfume by the end of the day and today's is talking to a friend that I bumped into on the train and wasn't embarrassed that I might stink of fags when I was talking to her :D:D only good can come out of this.
I hope everyone else is having a smoke-free day and can think of only good reasons for kicking Mr Nic's butt - have a great day all :j :j

142 hours now without a cigarette.

It maybe starting to get a little easier, though I have to be very vigilant.

    afternoon all!!

Jay_Jay & queenvi - glad you two had a better nights sleep last night!! i didnt have a good nights sleep, but i think its probably to do with me being poorly - i was coughing half the night!! liberty9515 - i hope your sleep starts to improve soon!!

joop - thats a good idea about Kalms - im definitely going to give that a go as i have trouble sleeping in general, never mind how much worse it is at the minute!! :D

Jay_Jay, thats a great idea about finding one good thing about not smoking every day - mine for today is not making myself feel even worse by insisting on smoking when im not well!!

well done themammy on getting to 17 weeks!! thats great!! i was really surprised how the smell of smoke on someone else repulsed me so much - its making me feel a bit sick thinking about it now!!

    xx

Thanks Sue and Daleigha don't really think about smoking so much these days. This in itself amazes me I smoked 20 a day for 30 years it was a big part of my life for a long time.

Well done everyone for staying smoke free I just love how I don't get out of breath so easily now when I am walking uphill.
Smoke Free since 13th September £1400 better off

    Hi All

Can I join in? I'm rather ashamed to say that DH and I smoked 20-30 a day depending on what was happening. This is our 2nd day with no cigs. I wanted to try champix but my Gp won't prescribe it so on Sunday I popped into boots and grabbed a couple of packs of Niquitin clear and had our last cigs on Sunday night.

Monday evening I was like the Tazmanian Devil when I came home and discovered that GH lad left the freezer door open a bit on Sunday evening. Today I am a lot more tranquil but god, right now I could kill for a cig. Elderly mum lives with us and she smokes and I am so so tempted to ask her for just one puff.................I shall resist
