Cant sleep either!
Hope today is better than yesterday. I either felt like crying, or killing someone! I think the kids will be begging me to restart smoking if I carry on like this!
Thx Sue-uu for the PM!
Onwards and upwards!0 -
Hi everyone - can I join you? Never joined/posted on any forum ever till now, so forgive if I get it wrong.
Am on day 5, VERY bad-tempered and twitchy, but after 50 yrs smoking got a big addiction to conquer... Looks like this thread could be a big help, even if it only prevents me from murdering OH who is still smoking
Not anywhere near me, tho! Good luck to everyone - we can do it.

Well I am now down with the dreaded lurgy, not sure if it is connected with my stopping smoking, or just my turn for the germs??? Anyway, I feel dreadful and am off back to bed very shortly as I feel so rubbish, but the positive side of that, is that I definitely wont want any cigs.....
Day 5, not too bad really? My OH is giving up too, but he is weakening with each craving, or should that just be association, I know he really struggled in the pub last night, I wasnt bothered cos I felt too ill LOL
well done everyone on getting this far, we can all do it!0 -

Yep - Day five without a single drag whatsoever.
I haven't been out with friends yet, so haven't tested myself against certain triggers. Still, I haven't smoked for 120 hours, which is 5 whole days.
That means 7,200 minutes without a cigarette.
For someone who used to smoke about one ciggie per hour, that is a long time
Come on fellow quitters :T :T :T0 -
Hi Everyone and well done!
There is a demotivator on here. Look to your right and you'll find Top Deals This Week, scroll down the page a bit and you'll find a section that says Free Tools. The Demotivator is in there. Apparently I spend £1770.25 a year and work 6.5 weeks a year to pay for it
Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to save the money as I am frequently in my overdraft and it's probably the cigs that do it
However, day 2 on the champix and I don't know if it's just me or my brain but even now they are tasting a bit different.

Hi all - sorry no update yesterday was busy looking after dog - he decided to hurt his leg all over again. Been to vet and he is off his walks - I am not though and have done over my 10,000 step count for today.
Well done to Jayess, Blue, graeme, Naomim, liberty and vi :T - we can do this guys0 -
Hi all and it's so good to see that no matter what, you're STILL battling on with quitting!!!
queen vi, it's hard when you can't sleep I know, but it will get back to normal soon just try and up the exercise until then. That and fresh air will help you so very much. Try and have more water to 'cleanse' you through. Most of the poor sleeping comes from us thinking about it all during the day, trouble is the brain gets used to that and finds it hard to switch off at night. So, difficult as it seems to follow, try hard to focus on the more beautiful things of life/the world during the waking hours. You'll find it will help you sleep so focus well and let your mind run riot!!
Same with you Liberty9515, and do try drinking large glasses of water as well as having OJs and clementines along with some Ice Pops. Maybe the latter sounds a little crazy, but you'll be amazed!!!
Back late and keep your sanity - and PLEASE don't opt to kill OH!!!!!

5 weeks now! So pleased with myself :T .
I've been taking Champix and, Naomim, it is the strangest thing. After a week I just started thinking - why am I smoking this? I was getting nothing from a cigarette and then even the smoke started looking a bit wierd! Black and thick. I took the tablets for 12 days while smoking but stopped the day before my official date a. because I couldn't see the point in smoking and b. because I wanted to be in control and not have someone else say 'you have to stop today'.
Still taking the tablets and dreaming the dreams! Strangest one I had was a bath full of vegetables! I'm going to weight watchers as well and I think it had something to do with the soups I've been making!
For the nibblers, how about making a big pot of veg soup? No calories, (if leave out spuds) spend loads of time peeling and chopping and so good for you! SENSATIONAL!
The time I still get the 'feeling' (not a craving anymore) that I want a ciggie is when I come in from shopping. Put everything away, kettle on (or uncork the bottle) and hmmmm something's missing. What I'm not missing is dirty ashtrays, smelly house and clothes, smelly car, smelly bedroom (yes, really)!
To those of you who are getting cross or irritable, you should be patting yourselves on the back! You wont feel like that for ever, you have managed weeks, days or hours without a cigarette and you have survived and you WILL survive! Give yourself a big hug... and I'll give you one too!
Good luck to everyone - let us know how you're getting on - it's nice in here!0 -
Thanks Sue-UU for your great words of encouragement, well today hasn't been that bad - I changed my routine on my commute, so I wasn't taking the 10 minute 'fag walk' inbetween underground stops - I just stayed on the train (couldn't get off it was too packed anyway) !! One thing I have noticed, I can still smell the perfume on my clothes that I put on this morning - that has put a grin on my face and I'm thinking now its worthwhile splashing out on some good stuff. My ex smoking buddies at work have been quite supportive, still trying to get me outside for a 'breath of fresh air' as we used to call it - but I can honestly say that I wasn't tempted at all, especially when I could smell them coming back. I hope everyone has had a smoke-free day and is keeping warm !!Smoke free 01/01/09 :TPaD since 10/12/08 - Dec-£46 / Jan-£39.88CC1 Mint [strike]£1215.39[/strike] - £896.63£2 savers club #82 £4 (banked £20)0
