I know what people mean about panic attacks, I used to get them and they are horrible. If I have had a night out with a lot of alcohol I also do that play over the evening's events in my head thing if I wake up about 4am and can't get back to sleep and then I wonder if I embarassed myself if I was too drunk.:o

I have a few sleep CD's which I should get back into using really.

I didn't buy any booze at the shops but I did get some salted nuts, a couple bars of chocolate and a few cans of fizzy drink instead. I guess we know who won't be losing any weight with this challenge. :D

    Hi to Sleepbetter :hello:

Hope everyone is okay this evening.:A

Tell you what I started drinking lots of - soda water or fizzy mineral water. Asda do 2 litre bottles for about 37p I think...(their own brand). I have bottles of the stuff EVERYWHERE - on my desk at work, a bottle by the side of the bed, and a couple in the fridge.

Beats coke hands down when it's been in the fridge for a couple of hours. I also started putting a little bit of lime cordial in them too.

Chocolate bars are ok as long as you get fruit and nut. You can tell everyone it's part of your five a day.

Yes I should get fizzy water instead as fizzy drinks are probably nearly just as fattening as lager or cider but without the fun side effects.:p I need to buy some ice cube trays, I don't know what happened to all of mine.

What's wrong with Take That Yellow Monkey? I actually used to like them in my student days.:o

Just off to make dinner. x

I just find Mark Owen a tad irritating. Gary barlow does not have a bad voice actually but He is the only one I have time for.

To be fair they probably dont have much time for me either :D

Sorry everyone and Miamoo. I am removing myself from this challenge due to some severe personal issues that have an anniversary now. I have sought help for this and am waiting for it to come through after speaking to a lovely volunteer helper. I am sat here with a bottle of red after speaking to the lady and it brought back the pain back to the surface. I am looking to cope better with this pain which is why I have asked for help. I am good at pretending everything is ok but I need to learn to cope better than time heals only (which it does but I need a bit more help). I am not turning alcoholic by the way. Sorry guys I'll be back again, and I'm not leaving your kind supportive words behind completely

    Hi folks

I've spent some time reading through all your posts today (in between sickness :o ) and I can relate to a lot of what you're all saying.

I drink at least a bottle of wine a night, usually a bit more if I can. I've always drunk too much, ever sine I was 16 (27 now), the only time I abstained was when I was pregnant and then until I finished feeding my dd.

I know what you mean about panic attacks, so often I've woken up dreading hearing what i've done the night before.. (that's if I've gone out, which doesn't happen very often at all perhaps 1 every couple of months). When I drink at home I've often woken up on the sofa at 3am and panicked about my daughter asleep upstairs. My OH is always in the bed, so she wouldn't be alone, but when she wakes she wants me and I hate myself that I might not've been there when she's needed me (OH has assured me it's not happened.)

Sorry.. I'm going on a bit!! It's just I have decided that todays the day I give up for good. and I'm terrified!! I'm worried about going to bed tonight as I don't think I'll be able to sleep. I'm considering going to the doctors and confessing all as tbh, I think I'm fairly depressed.

Does anyone find that you eat more when you don't drink? I keep wondering to the kitchen and grazing! it's only day 1 .. I'm going to be the size of a house.

thanks for reading, and apologies for prattling on
  • hey you bellrooster - don't beat yourself up - and think about the calories in wine versus the calories in grazing - once the anxiety goes am sure (our) eating will decline to normal grazing rather than displacement grazing.

I would normally drink at home too - and be ashamed the rest of the next day as to who i had called (had I sounded drunk) what I had said etc etc etc.

Am about to get an early night again soon, it does seem to help having earlier nights (although I didn't manage this at the weekend, just fretted and fretted)

Much love and luck to you, just think how proud you will be tomorrow when you post your AFD to Lurkio. Keep on the positive side I know its hard, but you sound so committed xx
