Yep, they say there is nothing but lies, damn lies and statistics. But this thread is very honest so all we have (and all we need) are lurkios statistics :T

Does anyone else find that you eat more when you don't drink?
The trick is not to stop drinking. Go and buy some of your old favourite pop drinks from your childhood days. My favourite is dandelion and burdock but there also seems to be a bit of a cult following for Vimto.

hi guys, hi newbies (and oldies)
lurky please update me for 10/11. ta
fed up, i think you have taken some ofthe posts to heart too much. i am sorry some of the posts have put you off. the AF january challenge is just something that is helping some of us, it doesnt mean if you dont do it you are bad or you cant post anymore. i hope you come back, its sad to see you go. if you want to chat pm me or change your user name and come back under something else. either way, i want you to know we are here no matter what your circumstances, take care.
i was about to eat my weight in kit kats tonight and then i watched ten ton man and suddenly i lost my appetite...i should have sky plused it!
Gp in the summer i was having really bad panic attacks, but i didnt know what they were at the time. i was in a real pickle in my life and i was drinking a lot. i went to the doctors and made them check my heart, i was convinced i was having a heart attack (i am 29 + otherwise fit + healthy) so they must have thought i was losing the plot, thing is i actually thought i was going mad. so they wired me up and checked my heart + ran blood tests + sure enough i wasnt dying i was having panic attacks, they prescribed me something (cant remember the name now) and they kind of helped but the biggest thing was slowing right down on the booze. i have hardly any now, thank goodness cos they are really horrible. so i know exactly how you feel and i also felt relief when i found out other people had them (but not glad that they had them iykwim)
nite nite xxx:eek:

I'm a big fan of Ribena with fizzy water, and a few cubes of ice.
That and the old classic, lime and soda, will see you through the hard times.
Remember alcoholic drinks have many calories, so if you normally had a drink at 6pm, your body wants that sugar hit. Thus I always start an evening out with a full fat coca cola, just to get the sugar rush, and then ease into lime and soda, or just soda water afterwards0 -
Hi Everyone! Good to have new people on board but so sorry fedup is leaving. I have lurked but not posted over the weekend so have been keeping in touch. My target seems so pathetic compared to all of yours but I came on here to cut down so I'm going to brazen it out and your support is really helping. I think you're all amazing.
Drinking at the weekend wasn't as good as I expected it to be. Went to Asda's wine shopping on Friday (first time since Christmas) and discovered most of the 3 for £10 wines were back up to full price! Bought some Banrock Station Shiraz, it was disgusting (like vinegar) so took back remaining bottles on Saturday. Bought some Andrew Peace (only marginally better). Maybe it's me but I'm reluctant to pay too much for quaffing. Sorry to ramble on about wine but wanted you wine drinkers to know that you didn't miss anything great round my place!
Out to supper with friends tomorrow so this week my AFD target is just 3. AF today so 5 please Lurkio when you're updating.0 -
