    Morning,

Didint manage to post over the weekend but did have an AFD on sat, however had a couple of glasses of wine on both Fri & Sun, but back to being good yesterday so that makes me up to 8 days AF.

Hope all are doing well, will catch up after work later.
  • Good morning everyone.

Wow lots going on here at the moment and its really interesting to read everyones experience with giving up/ cutting down.
Grey Pilgrim. Reading your posts made me realise that I have been suffering with alcohol based anxiety attacks as well. To be honest I thought I suffered from night time dreads/ depression/anxiety whatever its called anyway but the nights I have been off the booze it hasn't happened so my slow brain is starting to make a connection:rolleyes:
Fedupandskint. Take care of yourself and come back and update us soon
    Welcome to Bellrooster and sleepbetter
Well done Different Corner on your AFD it feels so good to get one under the belt doesn't it
Winebox hope the week is going ok
Well done and Hi to all the regulars

8 for me now please Lurkio. Sleeping probably too much now but its really good sleep and no "dreads" The other thing I have noticed is that I am much more motivated to do things like cleaning the house, taking the dog out and I am definitely more effective at work at the moment which I do need to be as things are tough.

When I was a student it was U2 and Howard Jones:eek: :rotfl:

Have a good day all whatever you are doing

    Post by Spring Watch Girl:

"Well, week 5 of no alcohol and I see a different person in the mirror. My eyes no longer look dull and vacant, they actually have a little sparkle and my skin doesn't look like uncooked pastry anymore. I feel that I have won a battle but not yet the war. Hope everyone else is at the point they want to be, I never want to be that person I was, I have been tempted but I just think back to what I had become. The sun is shining at the moment and I feel good and want to continue to have the sun in my life."

Well - sorry to blow my own for a moment, but today, at 12 days, is the longest i have gone without for many, many years. More than I care to remember. So forgive me while I pat myself on the back.... :D:D :j :j :j

Well done everyone else too :T :T :T

((((Fedupandskint)))) - take the time you need, but don't forget us entirely..... we'll miss you

Morning all - 7 AFDs for me pls Lurky. Gosh, a whole week. And well done to you! pat pat!!

Sorry to see you go Fedupski, hope you get through your horrible anniversary & come back to us before too long.

These panic attacks sound awful; I've never had one & hope to goodness I never do (though I know how to deal with one now thank you!).

When I was in uni...(no, it was NOT the Beatles)....Ian Dury / Blondie / Clash / Bowie...still fairly ancient! But then again so am I.

Have a good day all, see you later although it is SO QUIET in work (.....clients keep leaving us quoting the recession, all very worrying) that I can hang around here all morning :D
  • Do you know the main ingredient of Rescue remedy is brandy!

Put it in a small cup of boiling water, that evaporates the alcohol. :D

I didn't go to Uni, so am in no position to comment further.... :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Re panic attacks and hyperventilating :

Try holding a paper bag over your nose and mouth .....No seriously .... Breath in and out of the bag as if blowing it up and down. That lessens the amount of oxygen breathed and hence slows your breathing down as you 'over breathe' when having a panic attack.
