"Well, week 5 of no alcohol and I see a different person in the mirror. My eyes no longer look dull and vacant, they actually have a little sparkle and my skin doesn't look like uncooked pastry anymore. I feel that I have won a battle but not yet the war. Hope everyone else is at the point they want to be, I never want to be that person I was, I have been tempted but I just think back to what I had become. The sun is shining at the moment and I feel good and want to continue to have the sun in my life."
Well done everyone!!! Two more days and I'l have done my longest stint dry since........ 'Running Bear' was in the charts(not really - I'm not THAT old)
Happy Days, y'all :T :T :TNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh

Hey guys reading all this and wow lots of stuff going on - lots of internal battles going on with me at the moment, tough times and lots in my head.
Bismark, glad it passed, thanks for sharing - well done. You are an inspiration in lots of ways, I admire your honesty and your strength. Last night as I was battling into the wee small hours with myself (there is lots of left over xmas alcohol in the garage - don't know where to stash it) your virtual voice was in my head. For that I thank you, cos as much as I had a rough nights sleep on the sofa (couldn't face going to bed) I woke up this morning initially disappointed with myself - then remembered I had fallen asleep without giving in.
Failed miserably on Friday night it got to 1am - and I downed a double whiskey (why I don't know, wanted that fuzzy feeling in my head that makes life go away).
So Lurkio friday one large, Sat AF. Even managed to walk around tescos at 6pm and not get any wine in - first time ever I think.
Its ten years almost to the day that my husband asked me and my two tiny tots to leave (sorry for sharing). Lifes been very full of ups and downs since. Thanks though to you all as slowly but surely with the support here I am taking tiny steps towards standing on my own two feet without the need to blot the pressures of life out every night. Its not as if I am alone.
AF today as well - will call a pal and move the alcohol somewhere - its not mine so I don't feel as if I can bin it all.
Fed up don't beat yourself up - you have done so well so far.
Patchoili - I had one large drink on Friday night, saturday I felt my head had been hit with a hammer. Normally a bottle and a half of wine wouldnt dent my noggin.
And
So think its 5/6 for me x
Goodluck to you all today and have fun.
Will look later and have a read, thanks for being my virtual confidences and letting me be honest. xxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

no worries!
I knew I didn't have wine in the fridge.
If I did, I'm in the wrong house and I've got other things to worry about! For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -

Hi Guys,
Just popping in to catch up with everyone.
Bis, just wanted to say well done for last night it is not easy when you feel you want a drink, to not succumb. But you managed to get through it so big hugs and I hope today is a good day for you. xxx
Fay take care, I know what you mean about: not being alone, I am much more honest on here than I would be with people I know. Because it is annonymous it is easier to say things as you are not judged, people that know you have certain expectations of you. It is hard to get people I think to understand ??? Big hugs xxx
Gc thankyou for the: halt it does make alot of sense. x
Hi Polaroid, I am always so glad to hear that you are ok. Hugs xxx Btw re: eselt, try not to worry. xxx
Lurky, thankyou for updating list, happy days indeed :T
Kinda got an image of you: whooping it up with a lassoo. Hugs xxx
So as Polaroid says: take care my friends
Catch up with you all later
Hugs xxxxxxxxxxCherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home

Wells done Bis ..... Scary that the thoughts never go away ......
Mind you I gave up smoking 20 years ago and still have the occasional 'urge' when someone lights up close by ..... curiously only when they do it with a match not a lighter ..... and I used to use a lighter ??
Glad you got through OK
Have a great day everyone. I'm still on target with quite bit of room to spare ! :j
Best Wishes
