Happyshopper checking in. Still AF here, clinging on by my fingertips. Just poured the remains of the bottle of red that has been winking at me from the top of the fridge for 10 days into an ice cube tray and put it in the freezer (with a great big glug into the bolognese - that doesn't count, right?); Even I'm not desperate enough to drink frozen wine. Have been to the pub 3 times in the last 2 days with different people without drinking, perhaps I need a new hobby. Next challenge is to drink in moderation at my cousin's wedding next Saturday. It can be done.

Just a thought for those 'cutting down'.
This week seems to have been much easier by changing from Stella and only drinking a 3.5% bitter.
I guess it's just breaking part of the habit. Also I am mainly drinking out of a glass rather than the can ..... both seem to help lower the need.

course not...I used to add wine to the food I cooked...not a lot, if you understand me...just enough to need to open the bottle in the first place. For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: know that trick!
Just checking in...not AF yesterday but ended up with a diet coke which I actually wanted, not just me trying to be good. Had quite a lot of wine tho beforehandBUT...less than I used to! I can't do it all at once...gonna concentrate on getting my 16 AF days this month & the next step will be to try & cut right back on the amount I have on non AF days.
Glad you're still here fedupski - I lurve Cava; at least it's not as strong as most still wines!
Hello to everyone else...hope you're having a good weekend. It's grey & miserable here; I rather liked the frost!0 -
; I rather liked the frost!
used to but then I associated it with lots of strong real ale and warm fires and all kinds of other stuff...to do that would be to sacrifice too much elsewhere...
now I think of frost and extra heating costs....humbug.For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
We are back from the bottle bank! Couldn't believe how many sacks crammed full we took!
I find the Stella alcohol free lager a big prop - actually feels like I'm having a real bottle of the stuff.
Still got the hangover from last night though.
Off to cook a huge roast dinner for later!
XDrinks to remember I, Me and Myself
And winds up the clock
And knocks dust of the shelf

This reminds me of something. A long while ago my neighbour made a comment about the empty bottles in my 'black box'. From then on I always took them to the recycling place instead. i think that was when i kind of thought I might have a bit of an issue. Not like hiding booze in the house more like hiding my empties! The other day I saw a poster campaign, showing an overflowing box of bottles, with the caption 'So you had a good party...It was a party right?' or similar...that also struck a chord. This week I have no empties......may have to start using my black box again!LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -

Me too! I confess that the bottle bank is very close to where we used to live, and I thought, if I see any old neighbours walking past, and they comment about the bootful of bottles, I'm going to say that we had loads of parties over Christmas (when we didn't).
How sad is that.
Still, onwards and upwards...Drinks to remember I, Me and Myself

About to attack the garden again now, in from doing logs with ds - wielding a large axe - want to have a clear head for that one!!!
Ta for the hugs - probably post holiday blues as well - although to be honest I feel more back to normal now the kids are home again. I like the everyday stuff - keep me really busy.
Hope you are all good xxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

10/10 for me, and it is definately easier now. The last 2 nights I haven't had the "pangs" for a glass of wine at all. I first noticed the night before last, I was watching tv, and I looked at the time 10:40! I couldn't believe it was that late, I hadn't though "eastenders, I'l have a glass of wine" Last night was the same, I put a film on at 10pm, got really engrossed and went to bed at midnight.
The supermarket here closed 10 minutes ago and I only just noticed! (I would of noticed the time last week as I wanted wine!)
What Im trying to say (In a round about way!) is I'm not clock watching anymore, Im not noticing the triggers that were my excuse for a glass, I hope this is a turning point.
I hope you lot are doing o.k, fedup are you alright?£100 - £10,0000
