    Hello all

Haven't got on here last couple of days. Lots going on etc.More of that shortly.

Well done to all of you managing AFJ. I'm struggling but trying my best. My AFJ figure is 7/10. We had a family do last night as I have a cousin over from NZ so we all tucked into the wine a bit. I did stop though whereas before I would have just carried on.

I am also now very conscious (after some discussion on this thread a while back) of the amount I drink when I'm going to be driving the next morning. Its quite scary to think how the units tot up and how long it takes to get out of your system.

Also, we had a situation at work on friday with a driver being drunk. Management basically avoided the problem by not answering their phone after the initial phone call was made to them. It was left to a 20year old office girl to deal with the drunk. We were furious and rang the police. They said they would do a straight stop on him but we don't know if they did. It all upset me a bit. Just made me realise the havoc drink causes.

Anyway, I'm going to try and be AF tonight. I DO have wine in the house as someone gave me some but I will try not to open it.

    Have good sunday evenings all

    Miss P

I was a bit humiliated about how many bottles were in my recycling box this week, I was glad when the binmen came and took them, a clean sheet so to speak. I would have said that we had lots of parties over Christmas if I spoke to any of my neighbours.:p

I should really pour that last bit of wine away that I have in the fridge, it must have turned to vinegar by now, or maybe I can sprinkle it over my chips.:rotfl:

Lurkio - 7/11 for me now!!!

This will be the fourth AF day in a row for me now but I'm still not getting that glow and good nights sleep I was expecting, hopefully it will be there tomorrow.

    Well done Bis for resisting.
HALT - that makes sense GC.
Hope everyone else is okay, it sounds like people are doing very well.

Our area were very slow in getting recycling boxes so I was most excited when we got one! For quite a while I seemed to see it as a challenge to FILL IT every week! The christmas before this last one I was really pleased when OH bought a crate of coke in proper bottles as I knew I'd have a full recycling box. Bit evangelical about it at the time I was. I've calmed down a bit now and realise the only bottles going in there are mine so if it weighs too much and rattles a bit when I put it out that its NOT good!!!:o

(I think coke from glass bottles tastes nicer than coke from plastic bottles. I must be odd as well.:rotfl: )

    Hi all,

Haven't been able to get on here for ages. Hope you are all okay and where you want to be.

Just wanted to update that I have had 3 AFD including new years eve !!

Not very good but am pleased to say that I have reduced to only 1 or 2 small glasses of wine a night and not the whole bottle so am very pleased with myself.

Also just had my 2 year anniversary after stopping smoking so pretty happy at the moment. :T :T

Coke in bottles is my OH's vice (he's teetotal) and he swears it tastes so much better! Mind you, a six pack of them costs more than a cheapo bottle of wine now!

  • Time to add myself to this I think.

No alcohol since the Saturday after New Year so that's eight days including today.

Bad start with 2.5 days with no sleep caused by a mix of slleeping to much the week before (off work), body clock way out of normal and alcohol withdrawl. Then had an anxiety / panic attack on Tuesday afternoon which was a real shock.

Work couldn't be any more understanding and have given me this last week off and can take months as long as I have a sick note. Though I suspect some of the people that sit near me will think that it's due in part to drinking.

Feeling a lot better since then, exercised twice, eatilng healthily and slept just about alright last night without taking one of the sleeping pills the doc gave me on Tuesday.

To put my green, Environment Agency hat on for a moment....... There is a hierachy to do with recycling.

    1. Don't use (don't drink)
    2. Reduce (drink less)
    3. Reuse (make your own wine and reuse the same bottles)
    4. Recycle
    5. Throw away into a black bin, landfill
    6. Unlawful disposal (i.e you neighbours back yard!)

Maybe 2 and 3 should be the other way round for booze.
