Hi all, I'm back with avengance (no idea how to spell it just know I'm back with it !). Been reading and absorbing, after drowning my sorrows over the 'festive season'.
Not fall down drunk but aware that I've had nore than two stellas each night, justifying it with a - 'well everything's gone wrong so what difference does it make?'
Truth is it changes me as a person, become wrapped up in myself, tense, inwardly emotional, sluggish and a bad sleeper.
So why drink? No idea. Time to be good to myself methinks.
I like nothing more than to curl up in bed with a good book, not much hope of that if you can't keep your eyes open.
Think you AFJ's should be proud. I am throwing myself into it from Sunday, a new week, a new outlook on life.DC.

"Well, week 5 of no alcohol and I see a different person in the mirror. My eyes no longer look dull and vacant, they actually have a little sparkle and my skin doesn't look like uncooked pastry anymore. I feel that I have won a battle but not yet the war. Hope everyone else is at the point they want to be, I never want to be that person I was, I have been tempted but I just think back to what I had become. The sun is shining at the moment and I feel good and want to continue to have the sun in my life."

Hi Guys,
Just popping in to see how you all are?
Dear Lurky I am definitely staying, what would I do of an evening? Can honestly say I am doing fine with not drinking, hope this carries on. I've gone for 31/31 and I don't like to fail at anything, its day 10 today and it seems alot easier this weekend.
Though I have a confession to make! I have a new addiction, this forum. :j
Polaroid, I thought your post was wonderful, re: Eselt I have not had the pleasure of speaking on this forum whilst she was posting. However I have looked back on the old thread and saw that in I think it was July last year she had not been drinking for 7 months, so in total to now is that around 18 months a/f? The concern that yourself and others show since she has not been posting is lovely, I just hope that her computer is broken and she is back soon, we need wise owls. xxx
Different Corner, Hi and welcome. x
So catch up with you all later,
Take care everyone and have a good a/f/cutting down day.
hugs xxxxxxxxxCherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home

Im still doing AFJ and will still update Lurkio, I will ignore the posts I don't agree with (I am not a trouble maker, and usually keep my mouth shut when Im annoyed). But on this occasion I couldn't, as I felt strongly about what was being said.
Anyway I am now on 9/9 and finding things alot easier, I don't feel the need to have a glass of pop in my hand all evening, and I don't have to go to bed at 10pm either to stop the night from dragging. I have now lost 5lb and have started back at the gym to tone up, so Im feeling good, hope everyone else is ok x£100 - £10,0000 -
Hi really glad miamoo & NTC staying........& hi DC.:T
Lurky I'm on 6/9 now wasn't AF yesterday as OH came round so had a few glasses red wine. WOMO clause still intact, just (see below). I know this is being massively picky but can you amend my target to 16/31, it's only one day but I want my aim to be more than half the month!
It's obvious I'm out of drinking practice!! Last night was like the bad old days of last year...wake up on sofa in the early hours of morning (erm, 4 a.m.), wake up again later in bed with mega thirst...but all on a much smaller amount.
On Jan 1st I had 3 bottles & the fag-end of a box of red wine left, now it's 2 bottles & a smaller fag-end remaining so I didn't have all that much, esp as it was shared. I was looking for another empty bottle this morning - couldn't believe such a small amount had me out for the count! I'll be very honest here (might as well shoot myself in foot)...I thought I HAD had another bottle as only one was in the rack, then I found it on the radiator where I'd put it to warm up so am ashamed to say the intention to drink it OMO was there, & it wasn't willpower that stopped me it was the fact I conveniently dropped off. Maybe it was my subconscious stopping me from doing it (NOT!)
Oh dear as it's the weekend that means by Monday I'll be on 6/11 which sounds rubbish. And next week ain't gonna help...tell ya when the time comes.
Will try & look in tomorrow to see how you're all getting on - am gonna try again not to go mad over weekend (judging by last night, I don't need to!)
Good luck everyone - have a great weekend x0 -
