The giving up/cutting down alcohol support thread! Part 2
Comments
-
I've not posted on here the last few days as somethings that have been said have really:mad: me off to be honest.
For a start the support/encouragement started off non-judgemental, abit of fun, a personal challenge AFJ.
Now I am an alcoholic according to some posters on here because I drink more than a bottle and a half of wine a week!
I posted what I felt before and never felt judged but I feel that this has been sort of spoiled now, Im going to just get on with the rest of the month myself. Goodluck to all of you with AFJ x£100 - £10,0000 -
Evening everyone, :hello:
Dearest Lurky please put my total now as 9.
Yellow Monkey, you so cheer me up, thankyou.I listened to the running bear track, I recall it was on the: happy days soundtrack. Many moons ago in my school days. (Fonzie thumbs upto you) xxx
Ruby Rocks welcome and btw love the name.
To all the other wonderful people on here well done on your achievements so far, it seems feelings have been running a little high. I personally read all the posts and believe everyone has merit in what they are trying to convey. Some posts strike a chord more so than others with me, it may be at that particular time that what someone is saying relates more to how I am feeling. However everyone should have respect for what they are trying to say, so lets get these wheels fixed firmly on this waggon and get it rolling again.
Polaroid where are you? Can you not move due to: kit kat overload? Let us know you are ok. xxx
Love and hugs to you all,
See you tomorow xxxxxxxxxCherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home

didn't realise I had...am hardly in a position to call label anyone as anything!
if I'm tetchy, I apologise.....I'm a bit worried about eselt now....was thinking this afternoon that we should maybe try and let folks know if we were going to be away for some time, or if we were deliberately not coming back - at least then we'd know. For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
I'm thinking  at these posts!
I have no bother with a debate, I like to read the serious posts along with the jokey lighthearted ones. I find them all helpful and interesting whether I agree with them or not.
I find all the posts on this thread a support as a lot of things people say on here ring true for me.:)
I hope Eselt is fine and maybe she just had something important to do in her non-MSE-Forum life.
I think I'm going to overdose on glasses of pepsi tonight.:p I don't even fancy a boozy drink though surprisingly.
I hope everyone is doing well whether cutting down or cutting out completely.:AHOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Right, can I make a suggestion.....?
Please, please PLEASE do not leave the thread. There have been some tough messages in some of the posts this week, but there is a BIG problem with words. Everyone will read them differently, put emphasis in different places, and therefore interpret what has been written in different ways. Some people write in what I would call 'robust' language. Maybe they have gone further down the road than some of us in the first place and want to share their experience with us. That is fine by me.
I personally have gained an enormous amount of strength from this thread. As I have said I just need to realign my drinking habit, but I joined the MSE site in December for some money saving tips, saw this thread by accident and it made me realise that the time had come to sort myself out. That is thanks to everyone. And I am well on the way to achieving that.
The posts next week might be great and you might miss some great laughs.
Anyway checking in to say 9/9 for me Oh Captain Lurkio. And I think that is probably the longest time of abstinence (are all 'a' words banned?...!) for me since I gave up alcohol for lent at uni. Over ten years ago.
I am sleeping much better:D but still need to go for a widdle  in the middle of the night. Was hoping that might stop!
Have a great weekend
