To everyone, don't confuse a craving for alcohol for dehydration.

If you feel like an alcoholic drink, have a glass of water, instead.

Despite the bad press of people drinking too much water, I believe most of us are dehydrated.

Tea, coffee, alcohol are diuretics. Not only do you p*** out water but also vital nutrients.

As you may have read before, I got through 2008 without alcohol. I tried a glass of wine a few days ago and I couldn't stand the taste so threw the bottle away.

I have still only managed 3/7 this week but I'm quite pleased with myself considering it's been so dark and cold and depressing at this time of year.

(I am a veggie too and I think it is definitely more healthy and cheaper.)

I'm not sure I agree with the nicotine patch theory of quitting, I think your body needs to detox the harmful element not to keep adding more of it to your system but that's just my opinion. I gave up smoking cold turkey last year but I still get cravings sometimes.

more than quits, mine didn't involve food as well as company:eek: thats another challenge I guess:D Well done you:T

Cant believe how well everyone is doing and I bet so much is down to this thread. I am still on 3/6 atm after 2 nights out but I am confident on being AF tonight and probably tomorrow as well. I am working away this week and have had to face some strong habit behaviour such as getting back from work and going straight to the hotel bar for a large wine to help with climbing the stairs:rolleyes: I usually have a large stock of wine with me as well to avoid having to do the stair thing too many times in the night. Stock this week is diet coke and some extra teabags (not enough in the room to cope with my new found love:D ) Wont change my sig until tomorrow though just in case but its an early night and some sad room service for me tonight.

    :T Hi everyone:hello:

    How are we all today?

Well done Winebox on your lunch out :A

Good luck for tonight Needstochange, tea sounds just right :D

I was thinking today about the "just stop" or "wean yourself" off debate, when I suddenly realised that when I stopped eating meat and smoking I just gave my self a deadline and did it and never looked back, made me wonder why I can't be so clinical with the alcohol??? Perhaps because Im older/ been drinking longer?? Sorry just made me ponder.......I really should get a life, Im sure there are better things to be wondering about:rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway all set for another AFD today, none in house, not going anywhere else tonight so I think I can safely say its 6/7 :T

Right off to have a soak and read my book (its great not having to reread the same chapter everynight  )

Try and pop back in later

    Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd drop in and see how you are all doing?
To be honest I've been feeling a little down today, wondering if I have been too optimistic going for 31 afj? But dear Lurky please put me down for 7/7, realised that getting a bottle of wine when feeling down is just a habit A dangerous one when you realise just where it can end!

Jo, fay and bhb and miss p take care of yourselves and big hugs.xxx
Hi to wanna be free as bhb says please don't wait just for an afd, you probably need to post more when you aren't af to get the support.xxx
Miamoo don't worry I won't be giving up and I am counting on you as well. xxx
Ntc, wb and mari well done. xxx
Polaroid hope you enjoy the pics. xxx
Mollypolly I see you as the mum of the board so take care, hugs. xxx

Sorry if I've missed anyone out? Feeling down and tired off to do my sig.

    Hugs everyone take care xxxxxxxxx

Hi everyone, Im doing o.k too. I had a wobble in the supermarket before, mainly because I forgot all about not drinking, picked up my wine and then remembered and put it back (after thinking should I, shouldnt I). I put it back because there is no way Im going to post on here that Ive drank wine!!
Im going to update my sig now (thats a week done, who would of thought it and hasn't it just flown by NOT!!!)
    Goodnite everyone x
