    Happy Birthday TRC

So how many of you are having positive side effects of being AF then?

I have to date lost 8 pounds since I stopped drinking and that is amazing since I have developed a real sweet tooth and am eating loads of ginger biccies to ward off my all day sickness!!:D

    Have a good day everyone

    Shoppy xx

For a minute there, I thought you meant in the last WEEK!!!  :rotfl:

I haven't noticed any positive side effects yet..... but hopefully, soon...... :o

:DNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh :D

    Morning all,

Lurky pls put me down for 5/7 AFDs, astonishingly.

10 bottles of wine not drunk. 100 alcohol units not consumed. £40 not spent. In just one week. And it actually hasn't been the longest week of my life!

And this achievement is 99% down to this thread THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH (can't get the right smiley on this computer but general snogs all round, iykwim).

Am reserving 1% achievement award for myself, would pat myself on back but can't reach (fitness issues..........?)

Have a good day all! Says something when you wake up thinking "thank goodness it's only -2 this morning"!

missed loads of posts while writing that...sorry TRC forgot to say Many Happies (I'm just me me me....). as others have said, if long-term aim is total abstinence then don't drink, if you want to be "able" to have one now & then, then try it. Or, see how you feel on the night? Helpful as ever- fence-sitting again!

I have lost 4 or 5lbs in the last week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know this rate off loss can't last but it's a great boost for starters (I have been very careful with my diet though - NO alch substitutes. Will of iron! erm, for one week...)

Hi Shoppy! (can't wave - picture it) you sound well, good diet - throwing up all day long! Wait another 7 months then tell us what you weigh :rotfl:
  • Happy Birthday TRC :D

Well 2.4 Units for me last night ...... not AF but hey - better than 10 units :j

Even if I could keep this level up I would be on top of the world. Fingers crossed.

    Have a great day everyone.

I know what you mean about the power of this thread but I would say that there is a much larger element that is yourself (maybe 50:50) I say that because I read this thread for a while before my first AFD and whilst it did make me think about it it took something inside to click before it could happen. So pat away (go for reachable parts for now:D )

Not near my scales to report any weight loss (or not) at the moment but I would be surprised if I have lost any with the amount of food I seem to be consuming:eek: I will need to control this quickly or it will be AF but 2 stone heavier. Having said that when I look at wineboxes figures of units saved I am about the same and thats one heck of a lot of calories NOT consumed.
I will let you know the result when I get back home.

If we're having a units 'fess up..........

    7 days x 2.3 units (I think) x 4 (+ 4 for weekends) = 73.6 units NOT drunk   = £35 not spent :j

:DNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh :D

I just typed a long post and it got lost!
TRC I wanted to say I agree with NTC, It depends if your aim is to stop drinking or to cut down?
As I said before, I want to cut down how much I drink not stop, so I would have a glass of wine on my birthday, but then be extra strict the next day so I didn't slip back into drinking everyday.
Also Winebox I can't believe it, I just weighed myself and have lost 4lbs!! thats since new years day! I am also being strict with myself and am drinking diet pop and not eating junk!

Scales say 18 stone 7 this morning which was a nice boost. I know a lot of people advise you not to weigh in every day, but I prefer it that way. It's up and down every day, and sometimes it seems like it's creeping upward rather than downward, but then eventually (like today) you hit a new low and think 'Yay'!

In typical GP nerdy fashion, I'm even logging this on a spreadsheet and producing a graph. Man, I need to get out more.

Lurkio, still going strong on the AFJ front mate - update my totals wouldja mate?
