Use the people on these forums - I know I couldn't have got sober by myself. I needed help, and eventually asked for it. Then things got better.

    I will I will!! :) xx

Thanks to everyone for the hugs and stuff :o

Enforced AF today, I'd decided I wasn't going to drink as I was going to the PTA meeting tonight, then on the way home decided I would drink as the bell's were deafening, even tried the little quote speech bubble angel/devil thing that was talked about yesterday, but that didn't help. Then I decided instead of buying it on the way home, I'd go get it after the meeting so it was still cold (think I was giving myself a cooling off period!). Finished the meeting at 9.30pm and decided to go straight home as I was missing the Apprentice and only an hour to bedtime anyway and I wouldn't have bought 2 to last me but the full 6 and probably would've got through 4 or 5.

    So, AF today :)

Hope everyone's okay, gotta go watch Hells Kitchen now!

    xx

hi everyone just thought I'd post an update.
since his little episode the other night he's really reduced what he's been drinking only one beer so far tonight and last night was three i think which has been the lowest this year. It's still early but i hope he can stay sensible with it a case is normal.

He still won't admit their is a problem but i think a remark our daughter made about him behaving like a child made a difference the other day. only time will tell i suppose but i feel more relaxed tonight, therefore I'm not tense and saying the wrong things to him. I'm going to my doctors tomorrow to get advice and info on AA groups.

thanks to everyone for the advice i really needed advice from those in the know. it really helped me to stay calm and not just pack a bag. now atleast i have somewhere to ask for help if i need it again.

And well done on all the AF days everyone i'm quickly learning how difficult it can be:T:T:T:T:T:T

:hello:Feels very positive on here today, all trying our best when sunny days etc conspiring against us. Doesn't seem that long ago we were all feeling down and in need of a drink because of cold, gloomy days of winter. Welome to new posters, great to have you join us. This is a fantastic board just what you need for support to give up/cut down. See that Darling is hitting drinkers for a change(!) another good reason to cut down.

Well done jo on your achievement. I think you did just the right thing putting it off until later and later. When I go to my class on a Monday and get home about 10.15pm I know it would be a huge waste of an AF day to start drinking then.

Went to the Dr's today and he's given me an antibiotic for a chest infection so hopefully I'll now recover rapidly. Still can't taste anything so coping quite well without wine. 'night everyone.

    7AF please HS
and a big :T for doing the scores this month.

Quick post as off to work soon - will read back later.
Not AF yesterday for me but I did sip and really enjoy a glass of chilled white in the garden. At least it wasn't a whole bottle.
    Have a good day

Just a quick one as off out now - Jo, well done - I really admire your strength to do that, really well done.

Happy, an AFD for me yesterday - first one in ages although my level of consumption has been low (just a glass a night).

I'll catch up a bit more later

Well done Jo for delaying the decision to drink last night and then deciding not to at all. You sound like you overcame a big loud trigger and you did it!

Well done, everyone, Jo and Dotstar in particular!

Maman, sorry to hear you are still poorly, hope you feel better soon.

I managed an AFD yesterday so 5/10 for me please Happy.

My body seems to have shut down and I slept so heavily for 9 hours last night and without an alarm this morning feel like I would be in bed all day. Makes a nice change from my 3 and 4 am insomnia caused by feeling sick and having drunk too much. Still, hope I get less tired over the next week or two as I'm feeling really dazed with sleep this morning.

Have a good day everyone, Winebox, hope you're ok hon?
