Hope you feel better soon stroppy, at least it has made sure you have stayed AF
xx
Well the sun may have been shining but I didn't give in and have a nice cold alcoholic drink in the garden which is what I would normally do :j:D
I decided it would make me really cross with myself and also I really rather like my self enforced sobriety on Mon - Thurs :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It is so nice being in total controlthat I really don't want to have a drink even when I am tempted on my AF nights
I think I am really now used to this and more than content with having a wee drinky at the weekends only :j:j:D:rolleyes: Soooo.........8 AFD's for me now please HS :j:D
Hope everyone else is managing ok and all you poorly peeps are feeling better soon xx0 -
Day 18 AF for me today! Just busied myself earthing up the potatos to stop the wime bells ringing which worked a treat in the light evening.
Hope you hung on Jo and the wine bells stopped peeling for you. The light nights now make another trigger for all of us to deal with.
A glass in the pub, in the garden, why not enjoy it with the nice weather? Then a glass turns into another one and another one and eventually a bottle and the next day it starts again.
So many people doing it it seems usual and unproblematic.
On here we are all doing well whether it is in one day or more. Well done everyone!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Evening,
I don't know how many i'm upto, but i had another AFD yesterday (i think that puts me at 4), but and its a big BUT I would love a glass of the chilled wine i have in the fridge NOW!
I know that i'm feeling in a bad mood, was in a great one earlier, and still wanted a drink, but god bless families, i want to kill mine or just get adopted by the waltons.
I need a plan of action and i think it involves going to bed now to read my book, an early night won't kill me. I know that i'd drink the bottle if I started it, and that's my main problem.
I don't think it helps that i'm used to drinking on Wednesday, just to celebrate being half way through the week, in the days when i could get up for work and no-one could tell (or so i thought:o) that i'd been drinking the night before.
so its a late hello and an early good night from me, good luck everyone

Hi Guys :hello:
Hope everyone is ok tonight?
Jo I felt really sad when I read your post and to hear how much you are struggling at the moment. You try so hard sweetheart, I hope that you are able to keep yourself busy? Well done on joining the Pta group at school. I think that is the key to keep busy and to try and keep your mind off thinking of alcohol. But I realise that it is easy to say but so very hard to do. So I am sending you a big hug and lots of love and please take care of yourself. God bless. xxxxxxxx
Pk hugs and no I didn't get to see the programme on drinking with the girls. I agree though it does make uncomfortable viewing. Well done though on sticking at one glass of red wine last night, good luck for the rest of the month and I hope you will join me in May? Hugs and take care. xxxxxx
Eselt hugs and I think that you have given Chelnomi some very good advice, you obviously know what her husband is going through. Please don't dwell though on what you put your family through at the time when you were drinking and at your lowest. You are lucky in the respect that you were able to change and recognise this. I am sure your family will only think of the good that you have done on dealing with your addiction and coming out the other side. You are also supporting everyone on here which is wonderful, I can though understand how you are feeling. But please look on what only is positive and what you have achieved. Lots of love and God Bless xxxxxx
Chelnomi hope you are ok today please let us know how things are going for you? hugs and God Bless xxxxxxxx

Well done Stroppy. What good news.
I would always drink on happy occasions, and then they would be drunk occasions.
Not drinking on them means I do enjoy them more, and longer, and the next morning too!!
It was a difficult behaviour to overcome though, a real hardwired one. Weddings, Christenings, Exams, Promotions, etc all involved alcohol.
You learn to cope without, and then enjoy yourself.
Keep with it, you're doing great.0 -
Afternoon all
Still doing crap
Will have an AF day today though, I've decided to join my kid's school PFA and I'm going to a meeting tonight...hopefully I'll be in late and past the danger zone time
Sorry about that Jo, however what makes me happy is what I have highlighted in bold. That YOU made the decision NOT TO DRINK TODAY.
That is incredibly powerful.
It's a great mindset to have - you're having a rubbish day and feeling really off, but you have made the decision not to drink. That is progress, even though you don't see it now. What you do see is that a drink won't fix you.
Tomorrow is another day, sobriety happens one day at a time. I doubt tomorrow will be so wretched as today.
Use the people on these forums - I know I couldn't have got sober by myself. I needed help, and eventually asked for it. Then things got better.0 -
Thank You Graeme.
I can relate to that, any remotely special occasion is always celebrated with a glass of red, works the opposite way too and any bad occasion the red is straight in hand!
Tea tastes nice tonight though!;)0 -
off to bed..thats 2 AFD's for me now!!
night night xxx0 -
Well done dotstar
