NLG, you are exactly the same person, with or without a drink, it just 'feels' easier
Go drink something sweet, like juice, squash or whatever, just fill the gap like BHB is gonna do with his elderflower stuff _pale_ that will change the taste in your mouth and hopefully the craving will go
Thanks. Its hard even tonight. Its a beautiful evening here, And something I (used) to love doing on a weekend evening was sitting out in the garden with the sun shinning, radio on and just get drunk:D:D Ah them where the days. This will sound stupid possibly. But I think by giving up drinking I am somewhat giving up my youth, well i'm 28 not that youthful I suppose but you get the idea, by giving up drinking am I turning into a boring old f*rt? Alcohol was one of the lighter substances I used to enjoy at the weekends and now its going to:eek::eek:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Me too, but have realised people like you more shy and sober rather than loud and drunk
Things are never as bad when they get here. The worry is the worse bit. After the event in anything, I always think 'that wasn't as bad as I thought', or 'what was I worrying about?'
I have a book somewhere called "Feel the Fear and do it anyway", its well worth a read - it improved my outlook on social situations no-end!

I might actually try one of them Alcohol free beers, wonder what they are like?? OK when you get used to them - some are better than others. Bitberger and Becks are the best I have found so far. The AF wines - I can't tell the difference in the whites and Rose, Reds though another story.Embrace your inner Hillbilly

I know it'll be no where near as bad as I am imagining, its just the anticipatory anxiety. But I think I will hoak the book out, thanks for the reminder. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I am currently drinking a 2 litre bottle of Tesco cloudy lemonade. When finished later tonight will switch to camomile tea.
When out at pubs etc I drink 2/3 pints of lime and soda.
:beer:Living Sober.
Some methods A.A. members have used for not drinking.
