What kind of poxy cake has only 120 calories anyway?

    A weightwatchers cake!:rotfl:
Now if they compared with ham and pineapple pizza, with a portion of donner meat!

Quick update - I love my friend for letting me cancel, Now i'll have an AFD today (I'm guessing that i don't include drinking till the early hours?) I'm going to do some work so that i feel less guilty for ruining yet another day in my life!

Yep, as far as I'm concerned that counts as yesterday for AFD purposes. I can't speak for next month's scorer of course, heaven knows what rules Budgie's got up her tiny bird-like sleeve.
    ...nothing to see here...

Many unaware of alcohol calories: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8002991.stm

"Four in 10 did not know a glass of wine has the same calories (120) as a slice of cake, or that a pint of lager and a small sausage roll have 170 each.....the Department of Health carried out research showing a regular beer drinker, who downed five pints a week or 250 over the course of a year, packed away the same number of calories as someone eating 221 doughnuts over the space of 12 months"

Anybody else underwhelmed by this astounding 'research'? What kind of poxy cake has only 120 calories anyway? Actually, I'd much rather have a glass of wine and a pint of lager than a cake and a sausage roll

Hi maz123 :hello:. Happy Birthday! Have a good evening, whatever you decide.
    HS

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I thought exactly the same except the one I read said that a glass of wine had the same calories as...........wait for it........... 4 yes 4 fish fingers!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

Well thats it I am giving up alcohol and devoting my life to fish fingers and cake with no calories ...I know it makes sense;);)

Having said that I have dropped quite a lot of weight this year and I think I can pin point the cause and its not by cutting out fish fingers:D

    Happy Birthday Maz

good evening all! i have had a very very busy day, never stopped running around, giving people lifts and taking my son to buy a new outfit, and never really stopped to even think about having a drink! so that must be good and i have made a decision of taking him to his party tonight at 8.00 p.m. and i have said i will pick him up again at midnight - so i know that i cannot have a drink, if i am picking him up, then i will have made it through 2 days of alcohol free!!
saturday night will be bad though, as all the family have been invited out to a bbq and everyone kinow that i like a drink or three and that my husband doesn't drink, so he will be driving and i feel like - what should i say? should i make an excuse that i am taking tablets or just tell them, i am trying to give up, but then when i fail, have it thrown back at me! we don't go out very often, so it will be a nice change, any advice please....
  • Struggling tonight again - Have bought Elderflower fizzy stuff - on offer at the co-op for £1. Lets hope it fills the gap :D

I will feel better when I have my dinner, though a bit of a way off as Mrs BHB has gone to Tescos, so unless I go and strangle a chicken or a duck, dinner will be a while :rotfl:

Now where did those fig rolls go? Aha ..... under the cadbury's caramel ...... tough life ain't it ;)

Hope everyone has fish fingers and a slice of cake rather than a glass of wine tonight

    Best Wishes

    BHB
    xx

Grrr I am getting a craving big time:mad: The old Friday night feeling :( I am cr*pping myself at the thought of this wedding tomorrow, Its gonna be pure torture, Sad to say I used alcohol as a means to cure my shyness, without it I am hopeless in social situations.

Sorry you are suffering tonight nireland guy

Jo jo you need to decide whether or not you want to stop drinking altogether or just cut down. I am a cutter downer and will drink at social ocasions, but the best thing is to make a decision before tomorrow and then stick to it [hopefully]

Good luck tonight to everyone refraining. I will be drinking tonight, but amazingly haven't even poured my first drink yet!!! Amazing for me!!

NLG, you are exactly the same person, with or without a drink, it just 'feels' easier :)

Go drink something sweet, like juice, squash or whatever, just fill the gap like BHB is gonna do with his elderflower stuff _pale_ that will change the taste in your mouth and hopefully the craving will go :)
