Well Day 1 was a success so thats 1 AFD for me.
I am really pleased with myself as my SIL came round last night and she and my DH were drinking beers! HOW VERY DARE THEY  ! I tell you I was holding on to that wagon like my life depended on it although I must admit I was really tempted to jump off a few times ( especially when my DH asked me if I was sure I didn't want a drink ) Anyway I made do with a chocolate horlicks ( a freebie sample which I got somewhere) - it was actually quite nice:rotfl:
Anyway good luck today everyone .

Well done 40somethingmum :T
I have taken to drinking hot chocolate in the evenings too now[except I have to have the low fat/low cal variety] and I really look forward to my mug of cocoa every evening now :rotfl:
Lovely words in the song BB :T
Have a good day everyone0 -
Morning all!
BB - Thanks, I am back at work, and my word it is painful to sit at a desk!
Lillibet - don't worry my dear, just try again and expect it to feel strange to not drink then you'll get one under your belt and it is one day at a time and even just one AFD is better than none.
eselt - my dog is a little Mr and he is full of beans! Continuing with the saltwater eye baths for a bit longer but he is much better.
Right confession time, I bought a box of 12 bottles of white wine yesterday from M+S. I don't feel too worried about this as I have about 6 bottles of red and I haven't had a drink in nearly 2 weeks. I bought it to stop me buying it from the supermarket each weekend and to take a few bottles away of holiday later on this month, plus I like a couple of glasses of white in the summer to share. I'm not too worried about having plenty of bottles in because I intend for all of this wine to last me at least all summer and preferably longer. I feel I have developed enough control to do this as I have the 6 bottles that I haven't bothered with for a few weeks.

Morning everyone!! my phone line's out of order at home & PC won't work & I've not been in work since Tues morning so I've not been able to get on here
It's too late now but I actually had an AFD on Tues so ended up with a rather feeble 5 days for March. It was so frustrating not being able to get on here & tell you!!!
I've had to whizz thro all the posts - welcome to Newbies!!
NTC thanks ever so for scoring March - sterling work!!
Happy Shopper I'll try & double up for April so pls put me down for 10.
Got off to my usual wonderful start & am so far on zero but there's no white wine in the house now (tho last night I had what was set aside for Friday night at a friends so am pretty disgusted with myself - put it in freezer to chill it fast & now have got to buy it again - £10  wasted. I'll have to buy it en route tomorrow, can't drink it whilst driving!!) I simply can't have it around.
Have got loads of red wine in but for some reason there isn't the same temptation.
The boat goes back into the water tomorrow so I'm hoping that'll be an incentive to get fitter - they'll be getting out the harpoons if I fall in if I don't shift my white-wine-wodge!
Gotta go - good luck all.0 -
good afternoon everyone and thanks for your welcome Budgetbabe.
Hope you are all feeling fine today - I am starting a cold I think so I am going to have forty after lunch winks.
I did have some white wine last night as 'I had used it to cook with, but there's no more wine in the house now and I don't drink beer so if I don't buy any more I should be OK.
Winebox I am like you - red wine just isn't so tempting for me and I can happily resist.
I want to start feeling more energetic and less groggy in the mornings so will focus on that as an incentive not to drink.
Have a good afternoon.Saving to pay the tax man0 -

Well as predicted I had a few pints last night, and won't be AF tonight so not setting a v. good example so far. And I've eaten 5 flapjacks this morning.
Well done everybody that got off to a good start, don't despair those that didn't.
If there are any more scores to add this afternoon, I'll amend this list rather than post again. see yer. HP

I drank white wine last night so no progress for me yet. 0/10 for me so far If I don't manage today I am likely be still in the starters box until Monday.
Thanks for such a great start to April with the scores, Happy shopper!
Hi WB, your 5 days is one more than I managed - well done!! Glad you came back, was hoping you'd join in for April and you've picked the same target as me this month too.Think we can crack it this month then, good luck!
Welcome back Pariskate, glad you've returned and want to jump in.
Well done, Glasgow girl - 4 days in a row is great.
Great start 40 something Mum and well done for resisting the beers under such temptation!!0 -
wbf, that's 5 of us on the same target. Glad to see us cutters-down well represented. Wasn't AF yesterday and ended up with a headache and very dehydrated this morning (keep forgetting how much more wine affects me these days). This strengthened my resolve which is weakening as the hungover feeling goes. Definitely planning AF tonight. I will! I will!0
