Hardly, you're like part of the furniture :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Still not managed to claw myself up on the wagon, but will be taking the Kudzu early today and have sorted out a quick dinner to minimise kitchen time, so have everything crossed for tonight.
Was watching Corrie last night and watching Peter crouching down and swigging his drink hoping to not get caught and I thought.....that's me!!!
I tell you what made me angry this morning, I was driving to work this morning and saw a billboard advert for Courage bitter or ale or whatever it is. It was a picture of a guy stood there wearing a dodgy jumper his nan had knitted and the nan sat there knitting in the chair and it said something about....for when you need courage, pointing at a pint of courage. How dare they give the impression that alcohol makes you couragous!! It does the opposite and helps to bury your head!!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Afternoon everyone!
Budgie, just going to echo everyone else here. Its very much appreciated when you ask after people. I'm feeling a lot better now thanks, although still having problems with my ears!

Busy day today. Did my Mrs Mop job this morning. Just got home and then have to have little one at nursery for 3. So have a couple of hours to get housework etc done.
Hope everyone is having good days!

Hi all- looks like lots of perky and chipper people out there this week- just seems to me like the whole mood of this thread has lifted during our challenge- people really seem to be positive and full of life.
Welcome to new people, you'll get a lot of support on here, and most of us are in it for the long haul, so stick with us and we'll do all we can to help.
FUAS- I think you already know the answer to your quandry..go on, take the risk, go for the sober option, if you hate it you can always drink next time, but how will you know if you can handle these things sober if you don't take that leap of faith and give it a go?
Best of luck everybody- hugs to those who need it today.0 -
Oooooooooooh, The Wire is coming to BBC2! Haven't seen it but heard great things about it, can anyone recommend? Heard it's pretty complex so def will need to be AF to follow it as I even struggled with the last Bond film!
Had 1 glass of wine after work tonight. Not going to be able to meet target of 19, but will get as close as poss in the time left.

You know when you have a friend or 2 that push the buttons of your old behaviour and you push theirs too? Well that's what it will be like for me when I usually get hammered, manage to get home somehow and then waste all the weekend with a hangover from hell. In fact it was a few months after my last night out with them that prompted me to join the thread.
So my options are:- Go and drive - then no chance of drinking and can leave early, come home, go to bed, get up next day as usual.
- [STRIKE] Travel and the train, return by bus - strong chance of temptation to binge and get p***ed, miss bus, spend loads on a taxi, waste next day...hangover from hell, throw up etc[/STRIKE]
- Don't go, miss meeting up with friends, have a quiet night in and carry on bright eyed the next day
Thanks to budgie, eselt, mollypolly, noynoy and Lukio who gave me advice about what to do and reinforced what I already know. Option 2 is now gone leaving the choice of going or not going. Thanks for helping me get my clear head on.
Yes, it's time for me to remember what brought me here in the first place, the desire not to waste a day with a hangover and never feel the way I felt last time I got so hammered ever ever again. That time was 6mths ago and I have not felt like I did then since and I told myself I would never again.
The lure of meeting up with old friends and putting my old behaviour back out there was so strong it felt normal and could have slotted back into place so quickly.
It has been 6 mths now from that last time and I need to face up to putting my skills into practice and showing off the 'new' me which I have developed over the last 3 mths with the support of this thread. I am in control much more now and I should show this off and show the different side of me off that isn't controlled by alcohol in anyway on a night out and can still have a laugh. And another laugh the next day when I wake up AF from the night before. That is always the best feeling for me - maybe should remember this more?
I love feeling AF, I always feel bleary after drinking even a few glasses of wine only these days. My face is also reddening more as I get a bit older. I am pale and pink and have always been flushed. Drinking always brought me out in a flushed reaction when I was younger, I should have listened to my body in my late teens it was obviously trying to tell me something!
I think as I get more towards my late 30's onwards I may have consider abstaining completely (there is no way I am looking like a ruddy old drinker when I'm not!) and see if my complexion settles down a bit in this way.
Anyway thanks for reading and supporting.
Hope everyone else is ok, Budgie you are loved on here, WB where are you? Are you ok? NTC big thanks for overseeing the housemates this month - your time is nearly up! Lots ofothers not heard from for ages YM, BHB, GP, Ms London, TRC Miamoo and anyone else I've forgotten

just thought I'd share this one with you....
you know those feelings when everything's as bit too much and it's all carp and one thing jumps on the back of another and there never seems an end to it...and it's really hard then to stop your hand stretching out for a bit of what you shouldn't have.....
well
I battled through a really bad patch of carp luck and odd things just going wrong and suddenly the tide turned and little things are really starting to fit back into place...almost like the universe conspiring to help.......all I had to do was be a little bit patient....
not saying that everything's jolly happy sailing and all that but it's in the right direction....
take care everyone...For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
I can really identify with that Bis.
I had a period of life like that too. There was a time when I thought nothing would ever go right ever again but I didn't reach out for the glass at that time of many months, it crept in later on....My tide turned very slowly and only in the last few months has it started going in a different direction for me, not bothered how slow it is, just the different way is fine by me
Glad the tide is turning in the right direction for you Bis, hope it carries on in that way for you.
Forgot to mention I am AF tonight making it 17/24 - can I do it and actually make my target of 24 days this month. No spare drinking days left to use up.
