The giving up/cutting down alcohol support thread! Part 2

Hi all- just passing through. Good luck with the changes Miss Piggy, hope they help. Well done FUAS for turning your drinking life around, and thanks to budget babe for the positive encouragement. Hi to everyone else...looks like March is going to be our most successful group effort so far..come on Team AF, only a few more days to go, hold your nerve everybody.
Had my last session with the alcohol counsellor yesterday, and asked what she thought of Kudzu- she said she finds a lot of her patients report how much it helps, and said some of her patients found Kudzu more effective than campral etc. She said if you team up Kudzu with a good quality Vit B complex the brain fog clears and the cravings seem to reduce. Anyway, she discharged me as all my test results are still good, and apart from a hepititis booster jab I'm free to go...felt a bit weird and I panicked a bit but then I remembered I've still got this thread for inspiration and support so I'm sort of confident, but with constant vigilence.
Hope everyone is OK today- some of you have been a bit quiet? Whats up?
Catch you later.
Good news eselt.
I imagine your brain fog lifted a long time ago as you haven't had a drink for a long time.
You're right - all sober alcoholics need constant vigilance. Alcohol will try and get you when you are weak, complacent, etc....basically, any time at all0 -
lol yes 11 for me even better! glad someones got their thinking head screwed on!

Hi all

Hi everyone :hello:
EASTENDERS SPOILER COMING UP :j
It is I believe going to be on April 2nd at the wedding of: Peggy and Mr Vile, (sorry Archie) that Danielle reveals her true identity?????
We shall see ...........
Firstly Eselt its fantastic news that you have been discharged :T I can understand though that you probably feel a little exposed? It is daunting but you will be fine and you know you have the love and support of everyone on here. When we first learn to drive we always have the support of our instructor and then when the driving test is passed we then go solo, a little hesitant at first but before we know it we go zipping about everywhere without a 2nd thought. Look at how strong you are and what you have achieved, I for one admire you greatly, so take care Angel, and go and bin those L plates.
I hope I have made a little sense? Big hugs and lots of love. xxxxx
Maman hope today was not too heavy for you? Keep positive and go for that end of month Jumpy, take care and look after yourself. Hugs xxxxx
Ud hope BsNtc can show some compassion re: the 10%? Hey and like British Rail you are getting there, so well done and good luck. Hugs xxxxx
Noy Noy well done on 11 af days, keep up all your good work. Take care and hugs, xxxxx
Miss P hugs to you and munchkin, I am pleased to hear that you are taking positive steps to make life better for yourself. It is important to have time for yourself, it is so stressfull running a home, trying to work and look after a little one as well. It is hard when they seem miserable but children are very adaptable and if you are feeling down then thats not good for anyone, especially you. I think that its harder than ever for women these days to try and be everything to everyone, more women have to try and balance home and work due to how expensive the cost of living is. As regards your OH he will get into cooking just don't go rescuing any of his dishes, remember trial and error and he will eventually get it right? (Hopefully)So take care and here's to you having a fab weekend. Lots of love and hugs xxxxx
Winebox glad to see you back posting as you have been missed, sending you a big hug ((())) please look after yourself and take care. Lots love xxxxx
BsNtc another af day for me please so 25and I too love the apprentice
I love to see how people develope? Though I cannot do with the smug arrogant ones, who think they know everything. So here's to supporting the underdog. :T Oh and I so want a shiny shiny star;) Pleeeeeeease. (I know there's always one housemate wanting more, more more)
Take care sweetheart and big hugs. xxxxx
Fay and Jo hope all is well with you both this evening? Take care and stay positive. Big hugs. xxxxx
115k remember to take that: kudzu and good luck on staying af. Lots of love. xxxxx
To all the other housemates take care and not long now until the end of the month. Dig deep and take care. xxxxx
To all our missing housemates please try and post just to let everyone know how you are?
Off to watch the apprentice now
Sending you all ((())) Stay strong everyone.
Budgie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxCherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home

Hi all- thank you so much budget babe, you are so sweet and include everyone in your posts, I really appreciate it.
Miss Piggy- hope the decisions you have made are helping- I used to think I could do it all, I thought I could do kids, FT job, house everything- but something had to give and it was my mental health, and now I delegate and don't feel a failure if I ask for help, and I don't try to be superwomen- I work part time (half the salary but half the stress), ask ex-OH's to do their bit (both work from home and are spoilt to death by new girlfriends), and let the washing up and ironing pile go up and up- as long as I've got one set of clean clothes I'm alright, the kids just have to put on their uniforms and I'm not too proud to ask for help anymore. Result- less stress, less need to drown my sorrows in anything, happier life, not a lot of money but a lot of time to spend with my loved ones, realisation that all my kids really wanted was my time and I thought I was being a good mum by killing myself in a job I hated, spending no time with them, but buying them ridiculously expensive xmas and b'day presents- how did I ever kid myself that that was what they would want? Bah!!!
Hope everyone is OK tonight- you are a bunch of seriously nice people!!!0 -
Hope everyone is having a good evening.
