Hi Upsy Daisy and welcome :D I am quite new myself here and it is my first month in the AF challenge. Once you write it down and tell people you are going to be AF for however many days it somehow motivates you to keep to it :D
Good luck with the gym. Never been to one either - I have so far done 1.5 hours mad aerobic dancing around the living room today. Another half hour to go before I start work [from home]. It is working for me though :D

    Hi Upsy Daisy,
    Welcome to the mad house.:D
As Fluffybishop says, sometimes just putting it into words makes all the difference.
There has been many a time I have nearly weakened and it has only been the thought of telling everyone on here that has stopped me.
Good luck with your cutting down/giving up.
    Love Mollypollyxxxx

Hi all- welcome new people and well done to everyone else- I can't believe how many of you are exercising, puts me to shame, I don't even move much at work as I sit down all day- must try harder.

Thanks for the messages about forgiving myself- I think the guilt will always be there though, just seems to go with the territory when you've had quite a big drink problem and worried so many people half to death.

Molly- make sure you let us know when your anniversary is so we can give you a great big cheer- really brave to go out on someones birthday to a pub and not drink and feel OK about it-I think I still feel uncomfortable in pubs, I rarely go in them at all now, particularly lively ones as I get nervous around people who are drinking a lot and sit there worried that there may be a fight or something.

Cornwall is looking lovely today- I'm going to go for a walk and look at it some more! Good luck everyone.

Where are you all???? If Danielle doesn't tell Ronnie this week I'm gonna phone up the BBC and tell her myself (yeah I know its just acting but its driving me nuts!).

Have a good St Patricks everyone- lots of good company and the evening you hoped for. Best of luck.

Hi Upsy Daisy, well done for braving the gym. It's not the being shown round part I find tough, it's the actual getting there to work out!

Well I was supposed to go out tonight to the pub but have found myself staying in as I'm tired and not sure I can face the pub sober. So far so good, will report back though.
  • Sorry - I don't watch Eastenders as I don't have time - If Dannie doesn't tell Ronnie what...?
Some of you have been referring to this story line for a while now and I'm intrigued!

I've read back to page 100 btw and I've found inspiration in you all through all the ups and downs how you still keep coming back here to fess up - and aren't judged - great.

BTW - Stroppy - the stopping smoing is only temporary, I plan to re start on my 80th birthday (FIL gave up on his 80th and collapsed and died on his way to the pub when he was 87 - drinking is therefore far more dangerous than smoking).

I remember you said some time ago on this board about not remembering watching films, my husband often refers to films we've "seen" and I swear blind that we haven't. It hadn't occurred to me that maybe I had but had left memories of it at the bottom of the bottle.
Just last night I was settling down to watch ER and he said I had seen it already last Thusday, I was adamant that we hadn't

Despite going to the gym and feling really good when I came out I was desperate for a drink by 7.00 - almost thought I had an excuse to go out and get some when I couldn't find the salad dressing I bought on Saturday - then found it on the top shelf of the fridge so didn't succumb after all:T
