the tip id pass on to you is to get your fav soft drink and only use it as a rtreat for when the kids go to bed instead of wine..mine at the moment is a full fat hot choc..umm.. or when summers here im going to buy some diablo codials from france ..umm cherry diablo.lemonade loads of ice .or can you get diablo cordials here now??

Had a little wobble but took another Kudzu and ignored the clanging. Most of the time I am finding it OK on AF days but still embrace non-AF days gladly, hence my low targets.

Maman I am exactly like you. I sometimes have a little wobble but the kudzu really help.
As a cutter downer not a cutting outer I also embrace the non AF days, but the difference is - I enjoy it for all the right reasons now and am buying nicer wine because I am only drinking at weekends so saving money, so I am appreciating the taste of the wine rather than looking for the cheapest high strength one
When I was drinking every night I was thinking 'my liver must be totally !!!!!!ed anyway - I need another drink to console me' Now, I am enjoying the wine because it is a better quality and I don't feel guilty or worried that I am doing any harm to my liver because I am drinking moderately and am in control of it instead of it being in control of me :j

Good luck Upsy Daisy :D Are you trying to give up or cut down?

Have a good day all xx

Noynoy, Kudzu is something I read about on the internet a few weeks back when I was searching for tips on dealing with the cravings each night.

It is a plant derivitive that has apparently been used by the Chinese for thousands of years to reduce cravings for alcohol.

I decided to give it a try and it really does work. When I had AF days last year [not that many either!] I was climbing the walls and pacing the floors each night!! With Kudzu I am in total control - I some nights still get a twinge of weakness, but the difference is I don't give in to it because the twinge is nowhere near as strong as it was pre Kudzu. It also helps you drink less on the days you do drink. I am having about 1 glass less on the nights I drink [weekends] A few of us are giving Kudzu a try :D

There are different strengths available online, but you can buy it in Holland & Barrett :D It is a bit weaker than some you can buy online so I sometimes take 3 tabs instead of 2 on nights I am feeling a bit of a wobble and it has helped me cut down so much more easily :j

There are no known side effects either :j

Hi all- just checking in, hope St Patricks night went well for everyone. Very chuffed today as I've realised I'm not only alcohol free, but exercise free too....managed to totally resist moving much at all yesterday...not sure if thats a result or not...Today I have decided I am going to walk everywhere briskly...well its a start!..........

Hope everyone has a good day- catch you later.

The funny thing is with the booze I don't really like the taste of it. Never have really and can remember having to force it down my neck when I was younger - I've just got used to it and enjoyed its affects (well thats what I tell myself) Its actually ruined a lot of things in my life - relationships, finance, peace of mind. When I think of it like this it actually makes it easier not to booze. However, this is only now I've started to deal with the debt - that did get me so down that I did want to drink as its the way I've coped with all problems - drown the sorrows in it.

I'm feeling better not drinking and don't plan to have another. However, I can quite see how its easy to pick up a drink when its something thats become habit and a way to self-medicate (what I was doing) i just feel for me it is not worth it and the effects and benefits it gave me certainly were an illusion.

    Sorry for rambling.
