Well done fluffyb- can I just ask how you managed to lose so much weight and still drink a bit? I just can't shift the last 12 pounds even though I've given up drink and am sticking to 1000 cals a day (I'm only 5ft 3) and these last few pounds are driving me nuts. Would love to know your secret- well done you.

Exercise!! I absolutely hate exercising wth a passion  , but found that a 1000 calorie diet alone just wasn't shifting the weight. I also had 250 - 300 cals of wine per day on top of the 1000 in food, so in theory should easily have lost the weight on 1300 cals a day, but it was the diet plus exercise that shifted it eventually.
I have an exercise bike at home, I don't drive so walk everywhere, and I started using fitness dvd's and also dancing at home!!! I think the dancing has been the thing that has worked the best for me as it is more enjoyable. I downloaded lods of tunes from my misspent youth onto my ipod :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and I dance as much as possible around the living room!! I do half an hour at a time about twice a day 5 days a week, plus use my exercise bike 5 days a week. The aerobic dancing really increases my heart rate and burns around 400 calories an hour.I use some toning exercises & moves from the fitness dvd when I am dncing too so I am toning at the same time.

I bet you wish you'd never asked now :rotfl: :rotfl:

It works for me, but takes all my willpower [well, wht's left of my willpower after having AF days ;) ] to do any exercise I hate it that much

Good luck with your weight loss - it's very very hard

    Hi All

Sorry I have not been contributing much last couple of days. Everyday stuff seems to get in the way sometimes and keeps me from this forum which is just soooooooo annoying ! ;)

NTC - can you put me down for 9 AFD's pleasy! I did have one of those 2-glass bottles of wine last night but it was that 'Blue Nun' stuff and I really didn't enjoy it tbh. Not my kind of wine. On the upside, it was on 9.5% so that's good :D

    Maman - Happy Birthday :D . Sorry it's a little late by now :o

Hopefully, I will be about more at weekend to contribute. I've decided against doing the 'Quote of the Day' thing as many of them are not relevant for this particular board and I'd rather help to keep it on topic to support people etc.

    Evening all,

I love this time of day, I'm past the danger zone and knowing I'm going to bed sober with no ringing in the ears, my brain will probably keep me awake a bit longer than when drunk but apparently that's normal ;) I also love it cos I can look forward to the un-hung-over'ed, albeit, exhausted getting up time :D

Miss P, hope you feel better soon xx

    Ophelia

Eselt, how's the kudzu or whatever you were taking going?

FB, congratulations :D enjoy the weekend ;)

Hi to everyone else, where are you all?? BHB you okay matey??

Hello everyone and thanks for the birthday wishes. Obviously am not AF today, been out to eat with wine, and bubbly at home to celebrate. Determined (even looking forward to it in some strange way) to be back on the wagon next week. This was my turning point last year. I got to my birthday in March (BIG birthday last year) and all my resolve disappeared. I drank for my birthday and then for Easter and then never went back to AF. I don't remember having a single AF day for the rest of the year.

BUT the difference is this year I have made a commitment to all my virtual friends. I am in this for the long haul and hopefully the longer I stick with it the more of a (good) habit it will become.

    'night all.

Well we are up to 12 days so far this month and tonight i may have a beer due to some comic relief sillyness going on at work today.

I may also have a drink to get over the shock of the cost of car repairs. I worked out I really need to spend about £600 over the next 6 months or so. . I've been neglecting my car repairs of late due to being skint and now it's all piled up.

    morning all.

Day 8 for me so halfway to my target now. Went out last night with the girls and managed to keep to diet coke although flat post mix gunk is not particularly pleasant. Why don't we have a better choice of soft drinks in bars? Got a big social weekend coming up so apologies if I am a bit lapse in updating Ill try and nip on where I can.

Budgie where are you? Its not like you to neglect your fellow housemates;) :D
Fluffy, have you seen the 101 housework songs thats advertised? looks like a good mix for your dance sessions:T (mind you I hate the way they say its for mothers day:rolleyes: bet they dont advertise it again for fathers day)
Maman glad you had a good birthday
Winebox Leave the OH at home, pay for me and Ill come and drive you there, we'll have a great laugh:rotfl:
Jo just wanted to say well done again I am getting complacent just changing your number of days upwards but you really are achieving so much:A

Hi to all the little devils as well, come and let us know how you are doing.

    Have a great weekend everyone

I'm so exhausted reading Fluffyb's exercise regime I can hardly write!

NTC excellent idea! I don't think you live very near to here though?!

Well I'm doing rubbish (again) this month but determined to be AF today - appropriate for Red Nose Day. My Kudzu arrived Monday & I've not opened the pot yet but am going to start it today & have a couple with my lunch as my weak(est) point is the drive home. I drive an automatic but didn't realise that means it automatically goes to the wine shop without me even thinking about it :rotfl: .

Eselt thanks for the age compliment *blush*. I notice you've got 12lbs to lose but once before you mentioned it was 1 1/2 stone so you've lost some? :T . I haven't  .

Jo hi - as NTC says you're doing brilliantly :T . Are the cravings lessening a bit?

Hi to everyone else too x
