Winebox & FUAS, sorry you both having a bad day (((())))
WB, 26 miles   mind you don't drop off the end of the earth!!! We had a do we had to attend last year and I told OH that I wouldn't drive cos it was just some place stupid and we would have to get a cab....rung the cab office and they quoted £80......each way!! In the end I refused point blank to drive (he doesn't drive) and he had to go by himself :rotfl: it was with the outlaws anyway and I am certainly not putting myself out for them!!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

:hello: :hello: Hello!
I hope you are having a good day!
I am majorly struggling - its been 23 days since I've had a drink, and I do feel so much better without it and have been feeling positive about the whole thing, however, at the moment, I am really struggling. It's more of a 'social' thing to me, and although I havent missed alcohol on a day to day basis, I know when I am around everyone else who is drinking, I'll struggle! I am starting to feel complacement and think 'oh, I'll just have the one', and I am forgetting the reasons I am doing this. Hmmm, where's that 'banging head against brick wall' smiley. :wall: :wall: :wall:
Fluffybishop - well done on the 5 AF days, you should feel really proud of yourself!
Beachbeth - sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish! Enjoy your bed when you do get there! Zzzzzz.
GraemeCarter - wise words as usual! I definately have an allergy to alcohol like you describe. And to bad food! Goddammit. I might cut & paste all of your comments onto a word doc and just re-read when I feel negative! Thank you!
Fay - hehe, I like the way you have disguised the book! I read mine in 2 days, but definately didnt leave it lying around for anyone to see! How long is your brother with you?
Winebox - sorry to hear you are really fed up. Hope you sort things out with your OH!
Fedupandsknit - whiplash, ouch! Hope that eases up soon!
Jo1972 - i hear you on the selfsabotage front, it sucks. I know the only person we are affecting are ourselves, but still, something takes over. It's a constant battle for me! Argh!
Enjoy your evenings. I am debating going to the gym, although really not in the mood, so think I'll just go home and have another early night!

Don't worry WB!! My 2 doggies have collars but I don't!!
Do you?
My kind and understanding Dr has given me another week off to recover further and also offered CBT sessions to overcome my nervousness of driving now. I am not a nervy driver however now I am after the last 2 incidents. Hopefully it will settle down soon. Also the physio has suggested 2 sessions this week to help.
Anyway no temptation to drink tonight and going strongly on to AFD 8 today!
Have a good evening everyone - keep strong if you want to, I'll be thinking off you all!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Hi all- hugs to those who are suffering with whiplash and nasty things- thinking of you.
GC- had a bit of think about what you said about allergies- I'm not sure I'm allergic to alcohol, alcoholism runs in my family so I think theres a genetic link- I was always vulnerable but I just didn't know- I know what you mean about getting the taste, I would always just have one then get the taste for it.And I never drank for the right reasons, not to socialise or relax with other humans, just wanted to get wasted. Jo's theory on self sabatage rings true too- always suffered from panic attacks, anxiety and worrying too much- Fays comments about low self esteem make sense too, always felt a bit paranoid that I wasn't popular or attractive or good at my job- I suppose when you add this all up its no suprise we've ended up here?
Winebox, I think your comments are so poignant, we've given up a huge part of our lives and I suppose there is a sense of bereavement (for the drinkers we COULD have been if we'd been able to control it).
Thanks for your comments Bis- I'm so pleased things for you have changed, your family must be so glad to have you back. Good luck everyone- catch you later.0
