Is it any better if I say we watched it up on the wall with the projector and sound through the stereo, home made popcorn and lashings of lemonade.......in front of a roaring fire?:rotfl:

Just wrote a post about the 'Simple Abundance' book...

...At the beginning of each day, it gives a little quote and the quote for today is...

...The book has a quote for each day, usually around the idea of contentment and gratefulness etc. I'd like to post the quote of the day here each day if no one objects. Some are poingnant, some meaningful, some silly and some just downright funny ! :D

    Works for me Ophelia.

  • Wasn't gonna post until later but want to try out my new signature which doesn't seem to be saving properly

Not AF today as I had two pints after rugby training. Not planning to have any more today though. And that is what I want. Moderation.

    Hi everyone,

A massive WELL DONE!!!! to everyone who hit their Feb target.

Missed target by 2 days, so a bit annoyed with myself about that but then again - did achieve loads more AF days than would have done otherwise and on the drinking days had a much smaller amount than normal. Pretty confident I was under 14 units a week, whereas last year it was prob nearer 30.

NTC - could I have a target of 19 for March please?

AF today so that's a good start...

    xx

I havent had a puter for a while so not been able to come and see how everybody has done. I hope all are well.

Ive been drinking this weekend but have managed to abstain tonight. I really, really wanted one but have had a cup of decaf tea instead!:j Don't want to feel crap in the morning.

I can vouch for the Allen Carr book too! Makes a lot of sense and also makes you realise how much alcohol is romanticised and made to seem special by the manufacturers and their adverts!

    ARRGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Why is this so hard

Just downed 3 bottles of AF beer to try and fill myself up so I don't give in :(

You're a non-drinker Jo remember? Read your posts from a few days ago, and read back what you wrote.
If that's not working for you (and I didn't think it would) then you should do the 'one day at a time' method.
Just don't drink today, don't look to tomorrow, as you don't know what that day holds, but just don't drink today.
While this desire to drink seems strong now, it SHALL pass. Bad days go. Unpleasant at the time, but rarely is a desire to drink stronger after a nights sleep.
If you want the guilt, shame, self loathing in spades tomorrow, then have a drink. I assume you do not, so please do not have that first drink.
You can do it, getting through that first week is the hardest part, do not pour old that good work down the sink and start at the bottom.
