  • Congatulations all.

Many thanks to Winebox for keeping the February figues and good luck to NTC with the March ones.

Reading this thread, one thing that strikes me is the similarities in many of the posts. For instance I had my driving licence suspeded by the DVLA, not for a motoring offence. but for receiving treatment for alcohol abuse.

but probably quite normal really... and I am sure if someone had a camera in my face when I've been drinking, the result would be the same *cringe*.

    Good morning all!

Ms_London - know what you mean about the Allen Carr book...not one I would have on show on my coffee table! However, it did make interesting reading.

Jo1972 Well done on another AF day!

Well, I have a poorly little boy today. Seems he has the stomach bug I had last week. Am beginning to wonder if any of us are ever going to be healthy this year! Very tired of being poorly!

Its my wedding anniversay this friday and we are going out for a meal. OH has said he's arranged for a bottle of wine to go on the table. So I'm going to have to ring and ask them not to put it on there. Have looked on internet and it says I shouldn't drink whilst on pills that doctor gave me. Don't want to make myself ill and, to be honest, am enjoying not drinking. Also have a party to go to saturday night so will drive to that to stop any temptation.

Thinking about drinking, or NOT drinking, seems to take up a lot of my time. I wish I was one of those people that didn't have to worry about thinking about it (if you get what I mean!).

    Miss P

Just a quick hi - good start lots of you well done! Yesterday not AF for me - stonking start eh? :D - but all part of the cunning plan. Don't want to think too far ahead but today & tomorrow will / must be AF. At least I toddled off to bed by 10 last night & had a great night's sleep so for once on a Monday...no hangover! Must get on with some work though....

Day 2 will be AF for me today.

I am determined not to feel down about not making my target last month and am just dusting myself down and starting again afresh for March.

    :hello: to any newbies.

    Morning all :)

Miss P, sorry to hear your lil boy is ill, I hope he feels better soon. I hope your wedding anniversary goes well and you get around the bottle of wine situation :)

    Noynoy, welcome and good luck!

Lurks, ah there you are ;)

Fay, well done :j blimmin tough innit?!

RA, that place looks lovely, I would love to stay there. Is it expensive?

Felt like I'd been hit by a fleet of buses and a truck this morning  I snoozed the alarm for 15 minutes this morning, which doesn't sound long but I did have to prepare my dinner for the slow cooker and make 2 packed lunches and get 2 kids ready and to the childminders. Was very nearly late for work but thanks to the traffic I scraped in in time!

I'm pleased I didn't succumb yesterday...hopefully this week will be easier as I'm back in the routine, Fri, Sat and Sun was an absolute nightmare!

can i join was shocked to see i was drinking about 34 units a week £3000 a yer in wine been making steady projress and cutting down since ja now halved it at the most but more like 12 units a week..now dh and i want to get rid of the mortage and just buy a bottle for sundy dinner to share saving 2800 a year! if we put 100 a month towards our morgage extra 1200 ..we would knock 4 years off and 9k as well as having an extra 1600 a year

well done evryone such a positive thing to be aiming for

welcome noy noy.Love the figures bet thats really motivating. Mind you if you were spending 3K a year on 34 units per week you obviously drink very very good wine:D Let me know how many AF days you would like to commit to and I will add you to the list.

Well done everyone who got March off to a great start. I didnt but that was part of the plan:o after 5 days off I really felt the effects this morning though. Might follow fluffybishops way of cutting down when its not an AF day I think I am obviously becoming the lightweight I wanted to be :)
