The giving up/cutting down alcohol support thread! Part 2

Hi all
I've decided to have a new strategy for March: I'm managing to keep within sensible limits when I do drink - so am going to have no-alcohol days Monday-Thursday, then allow myself two bottles of wine to be drunken over the weekend - 3 days.
This means that I can enjoy a drink, but will still be drinking about 4 bottles a week less than I was pre-January. If I find this too difficult, I'll think again.
Good luck everyone!

Hi Patchy, that's what I decided to do in Feb and it worked well for me until I opened a bottle of wine on Sun evening and then it took 3 days to finish it so I missed my target instead of throwing it down the sink. Otherwise it worked really well.
For me this month I am allowing myself to have 1 or 2 drinking days at the weekend meaning about 1 bottle a week at most this month. Last month may have been 1 or 2.
Good luck for this plan!

Thanks Achy Fedup! Hope you're both less achy and fed up soon!
I hope to be able to stick to this - as it would mean I'd be able to look forward to a drink at weekends, and still feel the benefits of drinking less during the week. Good luck to you too!

Hello,
I really hope you don't mind me intruding and asking this. I know it's a 'personal' question but have any of you encoutnered liver problems? If so what symptons have you had and what length of time were you drinking before you experienced this? I ask because I've been trying to help a friend who I'm very worried about.0 -
Hi all- hope everyone is OK, welcome newbies and take care anyone who is struggling.
Jo- you are doing brilliantly, hopefully you are feeling the benefits and people are starting to notice theres something different about you-I'm not sure what it is but I think the confidence you get from being so strong just makes you glow.
