hello chappies and chappessessess
Ding dong goes those bells again.
However - ha ha - I have locked my purse in my desk at work - that will sort them out for tonight. (Just a precaution you understand)
Shopped earlier - also a good strategy before the bells were a clanging
Now full of tea and brought some herbal tea home from work - so I should slurp that later on.
Off to sort some more seeds and do some seed trays - then a peruse of a whole sale plant catalogue - its just so rock and roll here........................hope everyone is grand today.
I will be 2/2 later on - that should give any of you who are trekkies a wee smile.
Welcome new folks

Evening (again) all
Thanks to you all, Fay, TRC (jumpy was deffo a during the day caffine'd up jumpy), Ophelia, Budgie, GC & Miss P for bringing me back to reality
The cravings are so hard during the beer bell hour (or 3) and it's like a the devil and angel scenario, I reckon that devil's got a megaphone!
Anyway, got through it, bloated from 4 AF beers which did help at the time cos I felt so bloated couldn't drink anything else! Had a bath, about to imput my mystery shop and then get stuff ready for tomorrow, nice and organised - something I've got used to over the past week.
Gotta get up early and with it cos my dear ole mum bought me a massive 6.5ltr slow cooker today and I got pork to go into that little baby first thing in the morning, plus DS has decided he wants to go back on to packed lunches again which is a pain in the bum for me, but least I'll be in a fit state to prepare it! Used to hate having to get up and do that hung-over'ed!
I hope everyone's well and having a great 1st of AFM
Thanks again xx
Well done Jo :T Hopefully the pleasure of completing the morning chores minus a hangover will eventually overcome the pain of doing without the alcohol. You are doing great and have been an inspiration for my decision to start my own journey.0 -
can i join was shocked to see i was drinking about 34 units a week £3000 a yer in wine been making steady projress and cutting down since ja now halved it at the most but more like 12 units a week..now dh and i want to get rid of the mortage and just buy a bottle for sundy dinner to share saving 2800 a year! if we put 100 a month towards our morgage extra 1200 ..we would knock 4 years off and 9k as well as having an extra 1600 a year
well done evryone such a positive thing to be aiming for
Hi Noynoy :hello: Pleased to meet you. Am new here myself but found this forum very inspiring and friendly. It is quite shocking when we actually sit down and do the maths isn't it  I've never done that, but I would say I was drinking about 3 bottles of wine a week so that must be around the same 34 units as you. I'd also love to pay off my mortgage earlier so this has really given me something to think about. Thank you :T0 -

not sure whether any price increases or minimum prices would have changed the way I drank to excess like smoking when the price went up I would have just found extra money to feed the habit. Having said that I guess our governments have to do something to help stem this problem
Hope everyone is doing ok, im on a large vodka and coke now but I decided not to put the vodka in:D29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -
Hi All
As promised on an earlier post, here is the quote of the day from the book I talked about:-
"Meditation is simply about being yourself and knowing about who that is. It is about coming to realise that you are on a path whether you like it orn not, namely the path this is your life." Jon Kabat-Zinn
From 'Simple Abundance' by Sarah Ban Breathnach
I think it brings it home that life is happening all the time and we should be living it in the best way we can.
This will be 2/31 AF days for me
Hope everyone is having a successful evening tonight0 -

Think I would agree that I would do the same - find the money for it somehow. Another financial thing I realised just yesterday was that I wouldn't think twice about paying £4 for a bottle of wine, but yesterday I went to the local co-op to try to find suitable alcohol free drinks to replace the wine. I checked out a couple of prices and really couldn't justify paying £1.09 for a small bottle or coke or £1.80 for a fruit juice type drink. How come I didn't feel like that about the £4 wine - bizzare !0 -

Agree and even more annoying is when 4 Becks AF beer is more expensive the 4 bottles of the real stuff as was the case in my local asda today. Wrong:mad:29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -
