    Hey everyone,
Tried to get the first 2 days under my belt but the bells got the better of me last night
Think because I knew I was starting on my new shiny nicotine inhaler today...had the last fling syndrome of smoking and drinking together
God knows how tonights going to go!
Just seen that units they all add up advert......
Ive never tried to work out how many units I drink, how many units are there in a 250ml glass of wine?

I would say 3 if it's 12 to 13% - it's 1/3 of a bottle. Wine is getting stronger & stronger - I remember years back seeking out 12% as a strong one, now 13% is the norm. I usually check & try & still buy 12%, but online recently ended up with white that was 14% & red that was 14.5%!!

Probably a stupid question, but do you guys count an alcohol free day if you have had an “alcohol free” beer or wine?

The reason I ask is most AF alternative’s I’ve tried have between 0.05% and 0.5% alcohol when you read the small print!

I know the lower end of this spectrum is next to nothing, and never going to give you any sort of buzz, but I was wondering if there’s a percentage limit to constitute it being called alcohol free? How do people who are T-Total view these kinds of drinks?

I am t-total and don't touch AF drinks. Various reasons for this:
    1) They never taste quite the same (especially wine)
    2) I don't want to get too dependent on them, where I feel a bit crappy if I cannot get hold of them
    3) When I stopped drinking, I had to change my mindset. Drinking these AF drinks is too close to the real thing for me to feel comfortable

    Morning all :)

All going well here, although the beer bells seem to be getting louder

I'm sure if enough AF beer was consumed then you might feel effect, like 100 bottles or something :D I remember on Big Brother some years ago they made one of the housemates eat loads of boxes of chocolate liquers and he ended up feeling the effects, also quite sick I think!

Tell you what Jo - if you don't drink today, you can have the option of drinking tomorrow.
All you need to do is get through 12 hours, and then tomorrow you have the choice whether to drink or not. Don't drink today, then wake up tomorrow morning, feeling nice with no hangover, and then make the decision. You may decide not to drink tomorrow, but make that decision tomorrow, not today.

If you drink today, the chances of you drinking tomorrow are very high. Shame, embarrassment, self-loathing, etc will all come back with a drink, and then be with you tomorrow too.
Be good to yourself and don't drink today

  • Hello all, a 1-year-older happyshopper checking in. No AF days since I was last around so that's 18 final score for Feb and 0/2 for me so far in March.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes from last Friday, that was v. nice to see. The actual day was Sunday and tho' not AF, did manage to be moderate. Can't say the same for Friday tho', felt rather poisoned on Saturday which did remind me why I'm doing this.

ANYway, must rack up a few AFM days soon as have a bit of a crazy month. Have just worked it out in my diary and it's going to be hard to make my 20 target but will still give it a go. Trouble is although I don't get the bells, I'm easily led and easily ambushed. But this should be day 1!

Yeah it's good! Was somehow hoping a bottle of white would be fewer than 10 units, but......there it is staring me in the face
