I have heard a lot of you mention the Alan Carr book - what is it called please?

Day 5 of cutting down for me and I have again managed one less 175ml glass of wine tonight :j :j That's 1.25 bottles of wine I HAVEN'T drunk :j

I know I have still had 2 but feel fine and in control and more importantly for me, I haven't craved the third glass as I would normally have done so I am pleased so far.

Don't know if I will achieve my 8 AF days this month but I will tot up the number of bottles of wine I HAVEN'T drunk at the end anyway just by cutting down each night :j

    Evening all

Jo...don't do it!!! Just remember how well you've done up to now. Go have a bath, go to bed early...anything!

GC - Wise words as usual. Thanks for putting things in perspective for us. The things about guilt and shame really rings bells for me.

Well, another AF day for me today. Went to MIL's for tea and she offered me a glass of wine. I said no. She seemed quite surprised :o

Have to admit, its nice being sober at this time on a Sunday. Sunday evenings are normally my big drinking time. Tonight I've got loads done and I'm still sober to watch the dancing on ice skate off! Unusual!

((hugs)) to everyone that needs them. Stay strong everyone...lets make this a marvellous march!

Have to agree with you Miss Piggy. I would also normally be halfway through a bottle of wine by this time and trying to talk myself out of finishing the bottle, and failing miserably! There are many upsides to not drinking and getting stuff done with a clear head is a major one.
PS - Thought Donal was very good tonight - can't beleive how much he has come on since taking his first very tentative steps on the ice just a few short weeks ago. Seems like with hard work, determination and perserverance, amazing things can be achieved :T

Allen Carr's 'Easy way to Control Alcohol' - it's not for everyone but it makes so much sense!

    Evening (again) all :)

Thanks to you all, Fay, TRC (jumpy was deffo a during the day caffine'd up jumpy :D), Ophelia, Budgie, GC & Miss P for bringing me back to reality :)

The cravings are so hard during the beer bell hour (or 3) and it's like a the devil and angel scenario, I reckon that devil's got a megaphone!

Anyway, got through it, bloated from 4 AF beers which did help at the time cos I felt so bloated couldn't drink anything else! Had a bath, about to imput my mystery shop and then get stuff ready for tomorrow, nice and organised - something I've got used to over the past week.

Gotta get up early and with it cos my dear ole mum bought me a massive 6.5ltr slow cooker today and I got pork to go into that little baby first thing in the morning, plus DS has decided he wants to go back on to packed lunches again which is a pain in the bum for me, but least I'll be in a fit state to prepare it! Used to hate having to get up and do that hung-over'ed!

    I hope everyone's well and having a great 1st of AFM :D

    Thanks again xx
